They had arranged to meet at the inconspicuous cafe outside of Hell’s Kitchen.
Matt had arrived there early, not running into any distractions. He had ordered drinks for the both of them, and was sitting in a booth waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting.
An hour later (and three new drinks), Jessica slid into the booth opposite Matt, picking up her drink and acting as though everything was normal.
Matt merely raised an eyebrow at her.
“What?” She asked after swallowing her mouthful.
Matt pointed at his watch; he could practically hear Jessica roll her eyes.
“I’m sorry that I ran into a bunch of,” she lowered her voice, leaning across the table. “Ninjas.”Matt frowned. “Ninjas?”
“Ninjas,” Jessica sighed, taking another drink. “They made me an hour late, sorry.”
“You expect me to believe it took you an hour to defeat Ninjas? Are you sure you didn’t get lost when-”
Jessica threw a napkin at Matt’s face; it hit his forehead, landing on his cane.
“Was that necessary?”
“Yes Matthew, yes it was. You doubted my story.”
“It’s a ridiculous story, of course I doubted it.”
Matt stopped when a second napkin hit his forehead.

They were walking down the street, discussing the likelihood of ninjas distracting Jessica for an hour.
“No way Jess.”
“Yess way Matt.”
“Ninjas don’t just attack in at ten am.”
“Well these ones did.”
Matt paused, holding out a hand to Jessica. She paused, waiting for him.
He sighed, and took off running down an alleyway. Jessica followed, only to be faced by more ninjas.
“What was that you were saying?”
Matt pushed a ninja into her path, which she quickly took out. “Nevermind. I believe you now.”
I have to say one of my favorite parts of the Marvel can do are the memevengers. They're so funny and the threads are fun to read, I feel like w ehave been Blessed w them. Thank u mods of the memevengers!!
