What do you mean they never said this????
The argument Sam and Danny have at the water fountain in Memory Blank is a pretty well done two sided argument. Neither is really right, but they're not all together wrong either.
The Second Time
Okay, so this takes place during Memory Blank. Basically, Sam makes her wish to Desiree, saying that she wishes things could go back to how they were before Danny got his powers. You know, the whole nine yards. Danny eventually gets his memory back and takes down Desiree, just like in the original. But this time, instead of staying to talk to Sam or Tucker, he just turns invisible and leaves the area. That’s where my story continues.
Sam: Well... that happened.
Tucker turns to her. His face isn’t angry — it’s worse. It’s disappointed. Disgusted. Cold.
Tucker: Sam… why did you do it?
Sam blinked. “What?”
“Why did you do it, Sam?” Tucker’s voice didn’t rise. That made it worse. “Why did you make that wish?”
“I didn’t mean for it to go like this! I didn’t think she’d take it seriously! It was just a joke — I didn’t know she’d actually grant it—”
“You didn’t think she’d take a wish seriously?” he said, voice clipped. “You mean Desiree? The ghost genie who only exists to take wishes literally?”
Sam opened her mouth again, but Tucker steamrolled through.
“No. That’s not a good excuse. You knew. We both told you. Danny told you. But you still made a wish. And not just any wish — one that created three supervillains and rewrote reality just because of a damn movie night.”
Sam stiffened. “It wasn’t just that—”
“Oh really?” he snapped. “Because it sure sounded like that when you said, ‘ I wish I’d never even met Danny Fenton.”
Her face paled.
Tucker exhaled through his nose and paced a few steps. “Look. I get being mad. I get being petty. You wanted to see a horror movie. Fine. But let’s lay out the facts: you didn’t tell us you bought the tickets. You forgot about them until the day of. And you threw a tantrum because we didn’t want to go.”
“They were non-refundable—”
“You’re rich, Sam.”
Silence.
“And don’t act like you were being considerate. You never asked if we had plans. Danny had been talking about that meteor shower for weeks. He was so excited. He had his camera ready. I was helping him set up the tripod. It meant something to him.”
Sam looked away.
“And then there was Paulina’s quinceañera. She only invited us to see Phantom, yeah, but she was honest about it. Same with Dash. Remember when he invited Danny to that party just so Jazz would show up? These people suck, but at least they don’t pretend to be better than they are.”
“You think I’m pretending?” Sam asked, voice rising.
Tucker turned, face hard. “You act like you’re the only one who gets to decide what’s right. You don’t listen. You don’t compromise. You do what you think is best and expect the rest of us to deal with the fallout.”
“I didn’t want to kill him!” she blurted out suddenly. “You think I liked doing that?! You think I wanted that?!”
Tucker’s voice broke then. Not loud. Just tired.
“You killed him. Again.”
The words hung in the air like a blade.
“Yeah, I’ll admit — the first time, none of us knew what would happen in that portal. It was an accident. But the second time? You chose it. You gambled with his life.”
“I thought it was the only way—”
“You thought?” Tucker stepped closer. “You hoped it would work again. You had no proof. No backup plan. What if it hadn’t worked? What if he hadn’t come back at all?”
Sam’s throat tightened.
“What would you tell his parents? Jazz? Me?” He looked at her sharply. “What if you’d failed, Sam? Would you still say ‘it was the only option’?”
“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “Okay? I’m sorry. I should’ve thought it through. Maybe I could’ve wished for his powers back without... everything else. I just... I panicked.”
Tucker shook his head. “It’s not just this time, Sam. It’s every time. You don’t think about us. Not really. You say you care — but only when it lines up with what you think is right.”
Sam’s jaw clenched. “That’s not fair—”
“You want fair?” he snapped. “Danny died at fourteen. Do you even realize how screwed up that is? And now we don’t even know if he’ll grow up. Can he age? Go to college? Start a life? Or is this it for him? Half-dead forever.”
He paused, then added bitterly: “You might’ve just confirmed his worst fear — that he was never meant to live a normal life. That he was always just going to be a ghost with a human face.”
Sam looked devastated. “I didn’t mean—”
“But you did it anyway.”
They stood in silence for a while.
Tucker finally spoke again, quieter this time.
“You want to be a hero? Fine. Then take responsibility like one. Don’t shove the guilt off on fate. Don’t blame the tickets. Don’t pretend the wish was a joke.”
He glanced toward the empty space where Danny had vanished.
“Talk to him. Apologize. Mean it. And then actually change. Because if you don’t? I don’t think this friendship is going to survive.”
Sam didn’t respond. Her lip trembled. She looked down at her boots, tears beginning to sting the corners of her eyes.
Tucker turned away and started walking.
“Danny might be able to forget,” he said without looking back. “But I can’t.”
His molecules got all rearranged🧬

Paulina finds the connection between Danny Fenton and Phantom showing in up in the same place during similar time.
Prompt idea: an ectoplasm is kryptonite AU where ghosts are radioactive to Kryptonians, with a Dani/Kon forbidden romance where being together is literally killing him. He’s “fine” when she’s in human form, except for when she uses her powers. “Fine” in the same way that someone allergic to cats is when in a room where a cat lives but it isn’t present. Aka not actually fine but putting up with it. He’s just getting low doses of radiation poisoning all the time. Because Dani/Ellie is basically made of liquid kryptonite. Being together means both of their powers are null. Hers by choice, his by proximity.
Consider: If ectoplasm is Lazarus water, then Superman has been revived by the Lazarus Pits, so it's not always lethal. Maybe it can be rejuvenating under certain circumstances, such as when on the brink of death. A way for them to be together might be Kon gets mortally wounded (because he’s vulnerable when near Dani? That adds some fun angst) and rather than clone a new version or get him to a pit, Tim and Dani break into Vlad’s lab and stick him in the ghost portal and turn it on, resulting in a half-Kryptonian halfa.
Episode "Memory Blank"
My last redraw in Studio Ghibli style, the butt- ecto-ray! This time I focused on the effect for the ray and the background. I used the shooting star scene in "Howl's Moving Castle" as a reference.
