I haven’t regularly listened to prince in forever, and I’m sure #problematic posts about him will start appearing on tumblr in like the next twenty minutes, but in middle school I discovered purple rain probably waaaaay to early lol, and he was a big deal for me in my early teens. so I texted a male friend that he died, and his reponse was “wtf lol” and I was like “lol??? :/” and he said “I dunno, I don’t really listen to prince and I just got done with this massive school project and I’m just trying to stay positive” and I literally don’t know how to respond because

As important as it is to talk about how men feel entitled to women and their bodies, that's not all men feel entitled to. They feel entitled to the attention of other men. You ever see a man talk to another man and the other man gets distracted? What a hissy fit that turns into. Men feel entitled to zero traffic and no red lights. Men feel entitled to only songs they can tolerate on the radio. "Can you believe this, this song AGAIN!?" like it takes any effort to press a button to change it. Men feel entitled to not waiting. It's "ridiculous" when food takes more than 30 minutes to get to the table. They feel entitled to the menu being affordable, and an explanation to the prices. If an explanation is given beyond their scope of understanding, they feel entitled to complain! The office should be quiet when they're on an important call. They should feel free to chat with their buddies at the desk over when they're off it. Cashiers shouldn't tell them where to form the line, even if it's 100% more convenient for everyone involved, including them. I have seen with my two eyes men respond "no thanks" to someone giving them a simple request because they feel entitled to not having anything about them being demanded. Men feel entitled to the bathroom. Why does it take you so long to get ready, they ask when you're trying to get ready for a formal event, trying to be socially acceptable with make up, hair, hygiene, clothes. You ever live with a man? They will sit on the shitter forever cause they're reading of all things. Plus, it's ridiculous to expect them to "remember" to put the toilet seat down for you. Sports games are a time for them to be wild and loud and rude and shitty, it's part of the environment we have to accept it. But they'll also be wild and loud and rude and shitty at the bar. Or on public transportation. Or at someone's party. They don't want to feel like a bad person for being inconsiderate. They hate when you call them out. They will say the most ridiculously illogical shit as a defense. It doesn't even matter who is calling them out. It could be other men, "hey settle down there Jim" "why don't you shove it mark, who do you think you are?" Everything is a gd fight they feel entitled to have, entitled to be listened to, and entitled to not being proved wrong MEN ARE BABIES
