Now this is how a fandom that works together stays together
“It is Dan's 18th Birthday today! 🥳 He had his party cancelled due to #Coronavirus. 😢 So, we supported his dad @jonertweets's tweet to @onedirection for a special birthday message. 🎂 And here it is... Thank you @Louis_Tomlinson! ❤️ https://t.co/4yiCAzEWAH”
April 24th, 2020: At the end of March, Mark Jones had posted a message on Twitter asking Harry Styles or Louis Tomlinson to wish Happy Birthday to Dan to make his day extra special. Indeed, Dan, who has down syndrome and is a huge One Direction fan, had a big birthday party planned for him for his 18th birthday which is today. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the party had to be canceled. The tweet, which is no longer available, was RTed a few thousand times by many accounts within and outside the One Direction fandom. The Twitter account of the charity Mencap had also RTed the tweet, helping spread the message to its 220,000+ followers. A few days later, at the beginning of April, Louis Tomlinson sent a private message to Mark Jones on Twitter and arranged for the recording of the Happy Birthday video
