BIOGRAPHY —
WHERE WE BEGAN → The blondest and the brightest of the Black family was often looked down upon, even as a wee babe when you were used as a prop to be shown off by your parents. To their faces it was all smiles and charm of how gorgeous their latest pureblooded creation was but in whispers people said what they truly believed. An heir and a spare was the normal and everyone knew what a third child was to a pureblood family especially one as highly ranked as the Blacks--a mistake. Rumors that Narcissa was the child of a muggle circulated around the Wizarding World not that anyone was brave enough to say these thoughts aloud to your parents unless they had a death sentence. But still, people were cruel and you could see the way people looked at you as if you weren’t worth their time. Even as a child you had to learn to ignore the unworthy who gossip and hold your head high, nose to the sky. You knew even then that one day you’d show them all that Narcissa Black was a force to be reckoned with. Most of your childhood was incredibly lonely despite being in such a large family. Bellatrix was more often than not with your father learning everything that needed to be learned as the heir of a pureblood family. Andromeda was with your mother who needed to be prepared for the honor to be married off to the heir of another family. You would wait around for the moment that your siblings weren’t busy, those rare moments where the three of you would run through the gardens playing childish games were the best memories you had. They were few and fleeting those moments but you’d remember it when they both were gone for Hogwarts and now it was your turn to learn what your parents had to teach you. Your only goal was to learn it all better and faster than your siblings before you, your parents would rue the day that they saved you for last. DURING SCHOOL → You knew what was coming at age eleven, you knew Hogwarts was calling and had heard the stories from your siblings. Classes were easy to buzz through after all magic came easy to the Pureblood families who’d been prepared for these moments their entire lives. You were no different. Charismatic, intelligent, a sight to be seen and admired by all around. Most people wanted to be you... everyone except for you. The friendships your forged were more often than not ones that were calculated, they were recommended friends by your parents, by Bellatrix. After all it was always better to make nice with the people who were going to be something after Hogwarts. You didn’t bother associating with the half-blood's or muggle-borns. You knew better. You were raised better... but then again so had Andromeda and the rumors that the middle Black child was running around with a muggle born didn’t fall on deaf ears. If you heard the rumors then there was no doubting that Bellatrix had to. The oldest of the three wouldn’t have this but that was none of your business. You had your own things to mind. Your determination to be the best resulted in the focus on your studies and the friends that you kept, you wouldn’t be dragged down by your siblings who couldn’t seem to fall into line. WHERE WE ARE NOW → You were fresh out of Hogwarts when the whispers of the Resistance caught your attention, not that you’d dare let anyone know that you were listening to the grapevine. You were much to busy making a name for yourself outside of your family. Focused on maintaining the friendships that made you look good and preparing to be the most perfect pureblood wife you were just as shocked as the rest of the world when it came out that Andromeda and Regulus had tarnished the Black name and they were the ones who’d been behind the resistance. Despite the agony that filled your heart watching the sentencing of them to Azkaban you kept the emotion off your face and even despite the reservations of being forced into a marriage with Lucius, who’d been promised to marry Andromeda, you did as you were told. Your wedding was the talk of the Wizarding world and perhaps in some light Lucius was a good husband. You did as you were told, you did as you were told but that doesn’t mean you agree with any of it. No, your far too cunning to fall into line with the way that everyone wants you to. You’ve got a glint in your eye that no one can see and while you’re not foolish enough to follow the resistance you’re also not stupid enough to want to skip through life taking orders from the man who’s crowned himself king of the Wizarding World.
CONNECTIONS —
LUCIUS MALFOY - Partner in marriage: You’re willing to do whatever it takes to keep your marriage in tact. After all, that’s what’s expected of you, and you won’t be the next Andromeda. It doesn’t matter that they don’t seem to love you and you don’t seem to love them. TED TONKS - Keeping distance: Part of you hates them, they’re the reason that Andromeda is gone, or that’s how you feel. If they had never met Ted perhaps your sibling would still be alive. And yet you wonder what is so special about the muggleborn that your sibling would die for them. SIRIUS BLACK - Cousin: Bonded over the loss of a sibling, the fact that they are your only cousin left means you keep close to them. You had never really cared for one another much before, funny how those things change. CONNECTIONS NARCISSA MALFOY IS MENTIONED IN
