@gondorweek Day 2 ✧ The Line of Stewards | insp x x Everyone in Middle-Earth is Brown [111/?]: Boromir
"‘But I do not know the counsel of the Lord and his captains. They have many ways of gathering news. And the Lord Denethor is unlike other men: he sees far. Some say that as he sits alone in his high chamber in the Tower at night, and bends his thought this way and that, he can read somewhat of the future; and that he will at times search even the mind of the Enemy, wrestling with him. And so it is that he is old, worn before his time.'" - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King, "Minas Tirith" "Denethor looked indeed much more like a great wizard than Gandalf did, more kingly, beautiful, and powerful; and older." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King, "Minas Tirith"

[ID: a moodboard comprised of nine images arranged in a 3x3 grid. They are primarily in shades of white and light grey, with some brown accents. From top left to bottom right:
1: An arched corridor of white stone columns, with hanging lamps overhead / 2: A close-up of the face of a white horse wearing a black bridle. Someone has braided its forelock / 3: An empty silver throne on a dais before a rich curtain / 4: A white tree seen at a distance / 5: A shoulders-up portrait of actor Michael Greyeyes, a middle-aged nehiyawe (plains cree, muskeg lake nation) man with light brown skin, straight black hair falling below his shoulders, and dark eyes. He looks directly at the viewer with a neutral but intent expression / 6: The hilt of a sword, pointing up on a white background / 7: An ornate domed pergola on a white stone building / 8: Pages from a hand-lettered manuscript / 9: A white stone tomb seen at a distance //End ID]

amarthiels' LotRO OCs
finally got around to posting bios for my main LotRO OCs / roleplay characters. none of these characters are protagonists of the epic / main quest storyline, they're just individuals whose stories play out in the world of Middle-Earth.

"Frodo took the phial, and for a moment as it shone between them, he saw her again standing like a queen, great and beautiful." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, "Farewell to Lórien"

Anoriel Fereniel of the Greenwood
So this is part of my little project where I make my own designs of Middle Earth and its characters including OCs and canon characters. My plan is to do one character per region for the time being until I figure out each style and each understanding I have for the characters I'm doing.
So here we have Anoriel's final design and I decided to lean into precolonial Tagalog fashion with some additions to cultural parts of their clothes.
The sashes are this wide long fabrics that the elves of the Greenwood would be able to use as a blanket, head covering, cloak or even bandages in times of emergency. This was suggested by Oropher's second son, Beriohtarion when the rot and darkness started infesting their lands.
Noblewomen have a clawed nail extension ring as an indicator that they are among the nobility. It's made of gold and inside the ring is a stamp of their House's emblem.
Also just cause I've always been unnerved by them growing up, the Greenwood is primarily filled with balete and narra trees. The balete trees are always tied to the superstitious belief that scary things live in them so I feel it makes sense the forest kingdom people are scared of would have balete trees.
