“I swear if you even begin with one of your speechs about sparing monsters or saying I’m a good little flower deep down, I will find the nearest river and drown you in it.”
“Just saying!”
EMERGENCY FLUFF AND SOFTNESS STARTERS / ACCEPTING !
@mercyburned said: “…but I like it when you’re a soft dork.”
“Well enjoy it while it lasts, because you are never going to see it again,” she teased lightly, before pressing her lips to his in a soft kiss. Her fingers moved to trace his jaw, hazel eyes seeking his as her lips curled into a smile. “I really did mean it though; I missed you.”
╳┊ @mercyspared “ i’m proud of you. ”
❝——May I know why exactly?❞ she drew a half smile at his words but all it elicited from her was a sigh, it was slight but noticeable. Since they had arrived on earth, everyone's life had changed completely.
@mercyspared for Logan
She really should be charging for this. The world they lived in was ruled by money and debts. Nothing came of doing things out of goodwill and kindness. Astra knew this. She’d been reminded of it time and time again. Yet once again here she was. Perhaps one day she’d get in trouble enough to beat the desire to help others out of her. It had been why she’d originally joined the police. That too should have taught her better. All the others had been greedy, power hungry, or both. She’d left and been floating from job to job ever since. With a sigh, Astra took a sip of her coffee. It was awful. Like everything here. But at least it wasn’t poison.
When Logan arrived, she was greeted by low grunt of acknowledgement from Astra, even though she was just leaning with her head on the diner window, eyes semi closed. To most people she probably looked like she was hungover or strung out on something, but if you looked closely you could see just how ridgely she kept her body, almost hyper alert. “I already ordered breakfast,” she stated eventually, eyes opening, but posture not getting any better. “Didn’t know what you might want, so I kept the menu.” She pushed it towards Logan. “I’m not paying for you.” Despite her words, Astra had already put this meal on her tab here and that much was very obvious.

for Garrett
Margaery had always loved cities. Loved the press of people within, the noise, the restlessness. The streets and pavement and buildings of all sizes created a sprawling labyrinth with endless opportunities for adventure and discovery. It was difficult to feel truly alone in such a place--at least to her--for there was a sense of belonging, even when surrounded by so many strangers. At night, the streets would still be alive with activity and the lights along sidewalks and buildings would shine and twinkle so that the absence of stars would not be greatly felt.
But a clear night sky hours from any man-made light pollution and dotted with stars was beautiful, too, and had a particularly special place in her heart of late.
She followed Garrett outside into the warm summer-night air, only a fraction cooler and quieter than the house itself. Energy and heat from dinner preparations had warmed the Aldens’ home rather quickly and their continuous and rather loud conversation had left no chance for silence of any kind to settle. Margaery loved it--loved them--but she could still appreciate the sound of chirping insects and unseen nocturnal animals at last awakening.
The dogs following at their heels added to the noise with excited yips and the pounding of padded feet upon the ground. Margaery sat on the front steps--watching them run in and out of the light cast from open windows--and moved over to make room for Garrett to join her. She smiles at him before turning her gaze to the sky, where the stars were slowly growing brighter. “With a view like this, sometimes I can forget my love of a city skyline,” she muses, leaning a shoulder into his. “Never get to see the stars so close to the city.”
