I know nobody following me will get this but oh my god.
This is a massive lore drop for Merfight that I completely missed because it requires a specific match up in VS mode to see. Clamilton is a post launch addition who doesn't have a story mode.

Future Mer Fic!!!!
I would like to do an LxLight fanfic where they are both mermen. Would love to hear any prompt ideas!!!! Open to ABO and including other ships like, RemxMisa, NearxMello, and some competition like Mikami. Any ideas are appreciated. Inspo pic below.
MerFight had a beginner's only tournament on 1/19/24. Here are some highlights!
Chibi c0mm I drew for @alexalchemy a while ago!

do you have a social network where you publish your work?
Mermaidfight doesn’t have other social media platforms, all mermaid artwork has been uploaded here on tumblr. If my artwork has been uploaded to other places, it has been done without my knowledge.
This blog has been abandoned, which means there will not be more artwork in the future.
So last night I was playing Merfight with some people and they came upon an inescapable loop/combo reset a character can do that does 70% of the opponent's health. But when I tested it myself to confirm I found that I could escape despite the others saying it was inescapable.
Turns out it only works on one character due to an oversight in the game's code that leads to them taking one frame longer to jump after landing than other characters. And the character subject to this isn't even that good.
Fighting games are wild.
Updated the wiki for Merfight with information on Arctina since she's the main character I play as, then realized this will make me notably easier to counter at an upcoming tournament with every other character still having all placeholder text on their wiki page.
But maybe I can turn this to my advantage and wait until after an upcoming tournament to share the details on how to play the characters I don't like fighting and make the page for the new DLC character I obviously have less experience fighting. Or you know, put the good of the game over my own tournament results.
I've done some narrative editing for a fighting game, Merfight: Curse of the Arctic Prince, and today it has left early access for a full release. So let me sell it to you in the tumblr way by describing some of the roster.
Buff octopus woman who quit her job as a doctor to become a wrestler.
Old librarian jellyfish witch seeking to kill and replace god.
Mantis Shrimp sculptor whose first story mode fight is him beating up a client trying to get out of paying for their commission.
Gaslight, Gatekeep, and Girlboss all in one spear using manta ray woman.
Diversity win! The crab grappler that took half your half in one grab is nonbinary.
And more.
You can get it on Steam and other places like Gamejolt and itch.io. And it's currently on sale on Steam as part of the Remote Play Together Fest for just under 5$, from its normal asking price of 12$.
There's also a demo with all the VS modes and rotating selection of four characters (a third of the roster).
Note that menu text still has some WiP notes left in by mistake that will be corrected soon. Story mode is in fact complete, with each character having their own story with three possible endings each.
