It's already May but it's not yet late to post about my summer escapades! I've been dying to go on a beach trip ever since last year. Can you believe that I wasn't able to go to even one beach for almost two years??? 2016 was the year of the pool/inland resorts which is why I haven't been able to go. I've prepared for this trip for weeks but days before we were still unsure which resort we were heading. We finally ended up choosing Cavanico because it was the most convenient for us and we've been trying to visit this place since its opening.
February never felt so special for me in my younger years. It really didn't bother me, more like Valentine's really didn't bother me that much even though I secretly wanted to receive something. I usually spend the day third-wheeling on my parents. That happened until I met the King, I meant Meric. Haha! (King is his second name btw) February's highlight has always been Valentine's but now, I also look forward to our anniversary!
check out my short update on life & you know what! ;)
After months of taking orders from friends, Meric and I finally made things official! It was also a perfect timing because I also thought about the perfect name for our mini business. I must say it took a lot of thinking for the perfect pair of Baeking but viola~ it just popped in my head like magic.
I'm sorry to tell you if the title of this post might have or already have fooled you. I haven't graduated yet, unfortunately. In our university, the Accountancy course has 5 whole suffering years. Anyway, it's my two bestest friends and my prince who graduated. I felt so jelly! Huhu. And some regret, and also wishing I'll also graduate. On the positive side, I also think that with all this struggle, there is light in the end. Or some other genuine quote. Haha.
I’ve been longing for a summer outing ever since classes ended and it was sad because I wasn’t able to go with our class outings due to my parents. But after two weeks and desperation, I found one of a go-to places in the city, Villa de Mercedes. I haven’t even thought about it until my classmates started planning again another outing.
Villa de Mercedes is a high-end subdivision, known for their infinity pool with a beautiful view. It’s actually an exclusive resort. Only lot owners and members are allowed to use the pool but you can still use it if you called their office for reservation or if you have an agent to accompany you. As for us, we made a reservation four days ahead and called again to confirm our reservation.
The hardest part is going there. Villa de Mercedes is actually located outside Davao since you had to pass the checkpoint. We traveled for an hour or so in getting there bc we don’t have a car. We even had to ride a tricycle to take us inside.
It was worth it when we arrived. The view was beautiful and although there were other people, it didn’t get our way. The only unfortunate thing when we arrived is that we learned that we can’t bring food. Well I guess some people can’t be trusted in the internet. We brought home made burgers by your chef truly. It didn’t go to waste though cause we ate inside their huge and cool locker rooms.
It was a relaxing getaway. We did a short shoot and indulge in their infinity pool. After that, we just waited for 5pm since a guy from their staff offered us a ride back to the main road. In a way, it’s a place you want to go but it’s not much of a place you want to go back, if you don’t have car. Lol.
Villa de Mercedes is located at Catigan, Toril, Davao City. You can check their site for more photos, but mostly this is the view that catches your eye.
