Merlin | How they’d react to you telling them you had feelings for them

This was requested ages ago omg I’m so sorry x_x I wrote this for Gwaine, Merlin and Arthur, I’m happy to add others if anyone wants though :) I hope you like it!

Gwaine:

- Unlikely that you’ll be able to successfully keep your feelings for him concealed to begin with, only because of how blunt and flirtatious he is (although he can be a little oblivious and might not notice regardless of how obvious it is) 

- Regardless, he won’t be expecting you to confess to him like that. Normally he’s the one who does the initiating, so it comes as a pleasant surprise

- For once, he’s the one blushing because of you, rather than the other way around. Won’t be able to stop smiling, especially if anyone mentions you throughout the day, making it very obvious

- Goes without saying it’s mutual, of course, and he’ll happily confirm that with an enthusiastic, relieved hug, kissing the top of your head and smiling all the while

Merlin:

- Will get very nervous when you approach him with the intention to tell him something, especially since you wait until you’re alone to talk. The worst things will come to mind and he’ll be bracing himself for something negative/worrying

- So when you admit your feelings for him, he’ll actually let out a relieved laugh, smiling half from your confession and half from relief/at himself for assuming the worst

- He’ll forget to respond to you at first, leaving you a little embarrassed and quickly heating up in the face. He would apologize when he noticed, only making it worse for himself

- The whole thing is very awkward and chaotic, but he’ll eventually reassure you, admitting he also has feelings and grinning as he watches relief and obvious happiness spread over your face

Arthur: 

- He’d want so badly to be smug and calm when you admitted you had feelings for him, but the suddenness of it would catch him of guard and surprise him

- So instead a blush would creep over his cheeks and nose, eyes widening as he tried to keep himself from smiling too wide. Despite himself, he’ll ask if you’re sure, kicking himself for it later and making you smile with how awkward he can be

- So pleasantly surprised he forgets to confirm his own feelings for you, leaving you hanging (even though you’re pretty sure anyway, based on how much he smiled when you told him) 

- He’ll plan some romantic gesture for you later, just to confirm what you’re already sure of anyway. Flowers, dinner, a picnic in the forest - something like that

Hey everyone! I got this idea from my friend over at @ashc-from-ao3 (who you should totally check out and send some requests and such), but how would y'all like it if I started doing imagines? For example:

Once upon a time, I posted a new chapter. No one commented. Same old same old, but I carried on and took a three month break anyway.

Meeting in the woods

he was traveling with Arthur and had lost him

you made an unexpected trip from the 21st Century to Camelot

you dived out of a portal and landed on him and then cursed at him

he was immediately smitten

He told you about his magic shortly after you started dating

i mean...he knew you weren’t normal since you did come out of a golden portal wearing modern clothes

Arthur absolutely loving you

mostly because Merlin does his chores quickly and without error so that he can spend more time with you

you two becoming best friends

Merlin hates it

mostly because you two team up on him almost daily

Constantly teasing Merlin that he’s cheating on you with Arthur

Merlin begging you to tell him about the future

you not telling him anything so that he doesn’t change it

until one night when you get really drunk and he takes advantage of it

the next morning you’re absolutely pissed at him because of it

him now begging you to forgive him

Merlin, Arthur, and really everyone coming to you for advice

people think you’re really wise because you spend all your time with old people

but actually, it’s just that you’ve seen a lot of stuff

and done a lot of stupid things

Arthur walking in on you more than once

he thinks Merlin and you do it on purpose

you can neither deny nor confirm that statement

Gwaine flirting with you

Merlin using his magic to make him trip

most of your pranks are on Arthur

Merlin complains because Arthur never punishes you but always punishes him

you don’t mention the fact that that’s because you made a deal with Arthur

Gwen:

You’d been serving together for a long while, each day she grew more and more drawn to you and your kindly nature. It wasn’t until she watched you help some poor little servant boy despite the Prince’s orders that she truly fell for you though. 

Merlin:

A bit of old soup here and a cheap blanket on a floor there and you were living with him and Gauis due to your own lack of place to stay. He learnt rather quickly about your affinity for magic and the two of you bonded over it together and slowly (or quickly) he found himself feeling for you...

Arthur: 

Arthur was Prince and you were the one Noble who didn’t seem particularly interested in him, it was a chase he enjoyed and as he broke down the walls surrounding you he fell a little more each time for the person he found inside...
