hi Laurie idk if you're taking requests atm but if you are, would you write a little tidbit about some comfort with gwaine? just some fluff. I could use it rn lol

“I’m telling you,” Gwaine said between fits of laughter, “you can’t even imagine his face when he saw what colour Merlin had turned his hair.”

You reached back to swat his chest. “You should have told me! I wanted to see that as well.”

Gwaine leaned forward, draping his strong arms over your shoulders. His face was almost directly beside yours, and his hair brushed against your cheek. “Sorry, love. Next time, I’ll ask Merlin to send you an invitation.”

You leaned back against his chest with a happy sigh, patting his thigh. “You better, pretty boy, or I’m holding you accountable.”

“Oh, we wouldn’t want that now, would we?”

Despite knowing he couldn’t see your face, you raised an eyebrow. “Are you mocking me, sir Gwaine?”

“I wouldn’t dare,” he whispered, before pressing a kiss to your neck.

Yeah, he was definitely mocking you. But as long as he kept kissing you as well, you couldn’t care less.

Would you be interested in writing something about Merlin while he’s still deep in the ‘no one can know about the magic’ mindset dealing with a workload that's more than one person can reasonably handle? Like between his duties to Arthur and Gaius and keeping up with the latest threats the strain and responsibility are getting to be too much and he’s just... slowly cracking under the pressure but isn't asking for help because he can't explain the magic part.

I’m thinking... I can work in some insomnia maybe, some stress/lack of sleep induced tics. Maybe he gets actually sick? An unhealthy mix of actually needing to do a lot of stuff, but being so tired and stressed he’s unable to differentiate between top priorities (assassins) and things that can wait (Gaius mentioned that he ran out of some ingredient that he might need at some point maybe) so he juuuuusssttt... freaks out about everything equally?

Hmmm. Everyone’s worried, he’s clearly tired, the knights confront arthur, thinking he’s overworking their boy, but arthur is equally baffled... they go to gaius? who’s also v v worried because he can hear merlin moving about at night so like?? he’s not sleeping?? but refusing sleeping draughts and/or time off??

I’m liking where this is going so imma stop here before i accidentally write the whole thing out. It’s added to the drafts anon!! thank you!! ily!!

It might be a while because I’ve got a few other drafts already on the go, but still feel free to keep sending me ideas!! :)

His knuckles are turning white, grasping at nothing before his fist collides with the desk in a way that’s so unlike him. Merlin is a man of sheer control, he feeds off it and prospers in a way that’s exceptional.

The man who’s going red-faced before your very eyes - that's not your Merlin.

“For fuck’s sake, Eggsy, if you could follow orders just once, we wouldn’t find ourselves in these situations!”

He’s slipped out of using codenames and you realize then, this is serious.

Eggsy’s long run out of breath from running and you can almost hear the pain getting to him when he tunes back in. That bullet in his shoulder is not a good sign. This was supposed to be a standard mission.

“Well, fuck, if I knew this guy had men in every corner, I sure as hell wouldn’t have come alone. But last time I checked, that was your job, Mr. Tech Genius.”

“O’ course, I fucking checked! You think I would have let ye go in there…who the fuck d’ye think I am, risking your life like that?”

His accent is thickening by the second, face flushed impossibly.

“Okay, you need to calm down. It’s not him talking, it’s the adrenaline. He’s in a sticky situation and yelling at him won’t help, we need to collect ourselves and put your brilliant mind to good use.”

“He’s surrounded on every side, it’s a suicide mission-“

“Hamish, nothing is over. We’ve been here before and we’re getting Eggsy out of it. Have I made myself clear?”

He nods, his heart scattered in pieces along with his brain because you called him by his real name.

It’s fine, he’s absolutely not distracted by that. Or the fact that you’re fixing his tie and pushing him back on his chair. It’s totally fine.

“Now let me take another look at the blueprints, I’m pretty sure there was an exit we missed on the second floor, if we could only get Eggsy in the elevator safely, he should make it there. I’ll have the car ready for him outside. Could you give me the coordinates?”

He wasn’t planning on kissing you. Especially not with the sound of gunshots and Eggsy’s heavy breathing in his earpiece, but you’re so smart, so perfect for this job and so capable of rendering him speechless that he thinks about doing it way too often.

He’s interrupting your glorious thought process, your moment to shine amidst the chaos but it’s hard to regret it when all he can focus on is how much he wants to do this forever. And you don’t stop him.

Hamish comes back to his sense on his own, lips detaching from yours with a stickiness that’s almost sinful. You’re both flushed now and you’re gaping at him but he clears his voice and goes back to the blueprints, giving Eggsy the right directions to exit the building.

You have a lot to discuss later.

(1/2) Ooo so I love Merlin and I don't know how specific or general you want suggestions to be so here is a bit of both, don't feel obligated to do any of them: a) I'm a sucker for mind control or possession, esp if the influence can be resisted a bit through The Power Of Friendship. So what if that thought of 'thank fuck Merlin is on our side' jinxed it? b) Being coerced into looking like you're willingly betraying your friends when you're really being blackmailed or something is a good time!

OH so I'm liking the first one,,,, I'm thinking,,,,, Merlin is very very powerful,,,, but hasn’t been training too long so doesn’t have perfect control?? And someone evil takes advantage and *mind control* happens,,,,, annnnnddddd OH he almost hurts (or maybe he DOES hurt, depending on how angsty I’m feeling when I write this) one of the gaaaaanggggg...

AND the second one???? Hmmmm. I'm thinking I focus on Merlin a lot.... so what if I go for..... one of the knights? Threats against their own life or blackmail wouldnt work on them buuuuuut,,,, they might cave if someone was threatening someone else in the gang??? Oooooooh. I'm thinking whoever is being threatened doesn't know about Merlin's magic (therefor doesn’t know he can defend himself) and does what they're told because the baddy of the week is threatening their precious Baby Bird. Me also likey this one....
