I don’t know what worse between the unexpected death of a character, that takes you completely by surprise when you’re not ready for that emotional shock, or the death that you know is coming, because you see all the foreshadowing, all the nice gestures that the characters make to them, all of the last phrases that are said to them.
Unexpected deaths are so surprising and they just hit right where it hurts the most. But seeing a character have dreams and expectations for their lives when you know they’re going to die soon.You see everything to differently when you know that the character is going to die.
Merlin’s joy at meeting his dad? Nadia’s dream of being a police officer? Primrose’s wish to become a nurse? Dreams make death so much harder
