1.12 — To Kill The King
--- It had been a miracle honestly. Centuries later and he had finally found him; Well technically it wasn’t him, if he hadn’t seen the cover for the ‘Top five richest family’ with Arthur’s face plastered on the cover alongside his father, he wouldn’t have even realized.
Which was amazing considering Merlin always kept an eye out. He was always waiting for him to come back. It just wasn’t like this; “Well, once a royal, always a royal, right?” He couldn’t help but think to himself while staring at the magazine cover. It was really him.
The only downside here? Well there was no way to get to him. The man had extremely tight security and body guards for everytime they went out. He’s lost count on how many times his guards have kicked him to the curb. Oh if only he could use his magic and toss them away, but that would probably scare Arthur so he always debated against it.
It wasn’t until he saw his opening at a position that was opened. Sadly not for the company, but his house. They needed a maid; Merlin couldn’t help but wonder if this was Destiny’s sick way of a joke. He was Arthur’s servant in his past life, he refused to go through that again.
Yet he was now mopping the kitchen floor of his mansion. Had he seen Arthur? No, the man had a strict schedule. How the hell was he supposed to see the man when he never had the time to just be home? Perhaps this was some twisted joke from the higher power himself, wasn’t it? “Yeah well, i’ll get the last laugh.” he mumbled at the ceiling, as if someone were truly listening to him right now.
He had just finished mopping, reading to clean out the bucket filled with dirty water until he heard someone inside. Could it have been Arthur himself? In his rush to actually see who it was and hoped it wasn’t another bloody guard, Merlin lost balance when walking too fast on the now slippery floor. Not only did the bucket filled with dirty water splash onto the floor, but he found himself laying in it.
He couldn’t use his magic to clean it up, not too fast anyway, which is why when he saw the familiar face he had been longing to see for so long, a smile played across his lips. “Arthur!” He spoke from the floor, before realizing he was on the floor. His smile instantly fell as he stood up -- trying his best to balance himself so as to not fall again.
His shirt now a wet mess from the front; Yes, all this felt so familiar. Was it sad to say he actually felt right at home? Not that he’d say that aloud. “It’s you! Hi, it’s Merlin.” surely his face would have sent off a memory right? Now that he could see him? “Sorry, i’m just a fan, we met once.” he played it off in case no memory flashed before his eyes and it prevented him from looking like any more of a fool.
He was just finally, finally happy to see the man. -- @arthur-rex
Just know that having something to lose … is what makes life worth living.
Me: tries to think
My brain: Gives me a picture of Merlin from RedShoes
Me: Not what I was looking for, but thank you anyways
I think the trio Gwaine, Arthur and Merlin is wayyyy better than Gwen, Merlin and Arthur.
