Evelyn The mermicorn fairy
It was raining and pouring in Tippingtown, the hometown of Rachel Walker and her family. She and Kirsty were getting into needlepoint. Rachel was making a mermaid while Kirsty was making a unicorn. Mr. Walker came in and asked if they wanted some more hot chocolate. They said yes, but as long as he remembers the whipped cream and sprinkles. As he left, they heard a giggle. It was Evelyn the Mermicorn Fairy. Rachel and Kirsty were confused on what a mermicorn is. Evelyn told them that a Mermicorn is a half mermaid, half unicorn hybrid and once a year they go to Mermicorn Island for the Mermicorn Festival, which is happening right now.
They arrived at Mermicorn Island, all the fairies in Fairyland were arriving for the festival. Music Fairies played with instruments made from driftwood, stalls were filled with exotic sweets and the weather was sunnier than it was in Tippington. From the water the mermicorns popped out and everyone cheered. They feel like they were going to have a great time at the festival.
Unfortunately, their happiness was cut short when Jack Frost and his gang arrived on a speedboat, scarring the mermicorns away. They grabbed one of the mermicorns and snatched her three Magic Jewels. The goblins rode off in the motorboat, leaving the poor mermicorn trapped. Evelyn immediately recognized her as her favorite mermicorn and princess of the Merimicorns, ‘Princess Topaz’.
As they were freeing Princess Topaz, Evelyn explained that her Royal Jewels represent confidence. The blue one represents believing in their ideas, the pink one represents listening to their hearts, and the green one represents helping friends. After freeing Princess Topaz, Evelyn told the fairies to go and warn Queen Titania while she and the girls fly off to stop the goblins.
In the middle of the ocean, Rachel and Kirsty zipped along the skies in fairy-form. They looked down and saw two bored and hungry goblins guarding The Blue Gem. Princess Topaz knew that the fairies needed all the help they could get, so she swam around the dingy. One stood up on the wobbly boat and fell over. Rachel, Kirsty and Evelyn agreed to help, only if he returns The Blue Green. Wanting to get out the goblin returned the jewel and the fairies saved him from drowning.
The goblins decided to row back to shore to have a snack break and a nap. The fairies decide to go and tell Queen Titania what happened while Evelyn stays behind.
Rachel and Kirsty met Queen Titania by the Seeing Pool. She explained to the girls that she saw a vision of Jack Frost in The Seeing Pool, giving The Pink Gem to one of the goblins and the goblins hiding it in a snow hat. He also gave the goblin magic snowflakes that fall fairy touches it, they’ll be sent to the castle dungeon. The trio did not have any time to waste, so they flew off to Goblin Grotto in search of The Pink Gem.
When they got there, they saw the goblin with the snowcat showing off his new clothes and taking off. Fortunately, a trail of footprints took the fairies to a house covered in Gobliscious Band posters. Evelyn turned the three of them into mice in order to avoid capture.
They snuck in through a hole and started to search for The Pink Gem. Evelyn saw sparkles by a bag onto a fireplace. That’s when she knew that the sparkles were The Pink Gem. Rachel and Kirsty crawled up to a shelf and started tossing moldy cupcakes at the goblin. Then they jumped and distracted him while Evelyn grabbed hold of the bag. She had a feeling that the goblin placed it there so he wouldn't lose it.
After the goblin fell down in a pile of dirty laundry, Rachel, Kirsty, and Evelyn barged out and turned back into fairies. Then they took off to see Princess Topaz.
On the island, they were having a celebration swim when they started hearing rumors from the fairies of a wiseman called The Amazing Advisor. When they found his tent, they saw some strange creatures and a fairy crying because The Amazing Advisor was rude to her. That’s when they realize that The Amazing Advisor is really Jack Frost. The creatures around the tent were goblins in cloaks. One by one, they headed off to their fishing boat with the trio of fairies following their tail. Jack Frost was holding the Green Gem. Princess Topaz tried to stop them, but they trapped her in a net again. The goblins steered the boat so hard that The Green Gem slipped from Jack Frost’s icy hand. Evelyn now had a choice, either rescue Princess Topaz or The Green Gem. Knowing how much Princess Topaz means to her, she chose the Mermicorn. It was hopeless, The Green Gem was gone forever. Then to their surprise, a mermaid popped up and gave the fairies The Green Gem. She introduced herself as Pearl and was dying to meet human beings. Embarrassed and annoyed, the goblins rode off on their fishing boat.
Rachel and Kirsty returned to Tippington Town. No time has passed since they left. However, Buttons was thrilled to see Rachel again. Mr. Walker came in with hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. Rachel and Kirsty made a toast, to fairies and mermicorns.
