Keeping Warm

The snowfall was heavy, and so were his woes. But wait, that would be too poetic. Still, his mind always rushed with negative thoughts such as this every time he poured himself a new drink. 

“This hotel has some fancy shit.” Of course it did. Orion paid for it. If it weren’t for him, Duncan would never have been to have the places he’d been to in the past year. Ice clinked around in the glass as he filled them both to the brim with top shelf vodka. He drank some from the bottle before setting it down, revealing that it was already halfway empty. 

“After we kill that bottle I saw one’a rye in the fridge. All this shit’s already paid for too?” He knocked back half of his glass and winced after he pulled it away from his face. “Fuck. I fuckin’ hate vodka.”

Greenwitch

Intro post to The Greenwitch

The Greenwitch is made every year at Samhain or the first snowfall of the year(you pick) out of grasses into the shape of a woman and she is a protector of the house. She brings strength in the cold and helps connect a person to the cold. She can also represent other winter deities such as Frau Holle(Holda) or Skathi(Skadi). She brings abs represents the snow and ice of the season and is a crone goddess.

Come the end of winter she is honored and given thanks to and burnt in a fire until her revival the following year- this can be done at imbolc, ostara, or the end of snow varyingly.

She can also be offered sacrifices(nonviolent) or offerings throughout to aid in strength and endurance.

It’s about time for my annual redraw of Julian Bashir, and he still doesn’t look like himself.

On the initial drawing Julian was too dark-skinned. Moreover his face resembled the face of one of my original characters more than his own.

Julian on the first redraw of this picture turned out to kind of look like a person from my past that had hurt me years ago and not himself.

I like draw-this-again things. Unfortunately many artists change a lot in the picture, so that it doesn’t look like a redraw anymore. I think, the less you change, the more you can really see your progress in ability to express your initial idea.

Anyway here is another of my failed attempts to catch the facial features of Julian Bashir.
