“Dean, listen. We need to talk,” Sam’s voice was heavy. His eyebrows were knitted together into a deep-set frown, and he raked a hand through his hair as he sat down. It made Dean’s stomach drop. Just what was it now? It had to be bad, if it had Sam this worried. Dean sat across from him, scrubbing a hand over his face. He fidgeted for a moment, before letting his hands fall into his lap.
“Sammy, what is it?” He asked. Silence. “Come on, now. Don’t leave me hanging like this.”
“Dean, I-”
“Sammy, whatever it is, we can get through it. Together.”
Sam let out a long exhale of breath. “I did a pregnancy test. It’s yours.”
Dean’s mouth fell open. He closed it again. “Huh?” was the only sound that could come out of his mouth.
Sam burst into cackling laughter, and all Dean could do was stare at him. “Sam, you son of a-”
“I know, Dean, I know,” Sam grinned, wiping away tears.

Stiles was never really one for reunions of any sort. He’d been ‘reunited’, as it were, with many people from his past as his life went on, but he always found it awkward. He knew the social protocol for them of course; a “Oh, hey, you!” here and a “You’re looking great!” there, and he was all set. But it just never felt quite right to him.
So his high school reunion was going to be hell.
Scott would be there, of course, which made things a bit better. But with Scott being engaged to Kira and all, Stiles still felt a little out of place.
The only part of the reunion that Stiles enjoyed was seeing his old friends again, and having the gang back together even for just one moment. Scott and Kira were engaged, Isaac and Allison were living together, Boyd and Erica were happily married (which they had been since they were old enough to legally be married), and Lydia and Jackson were back together.
He talked and laughed with them as easily as if they were still in high school.
Then Derek arrived. Derek, in all of his mysterious hotness. Seriously, he hadn’t changed a bit since they graduated. He was still all Mr. Leather Jackets and Broody Frowns. And Stiles was still hopelessly attracted to him. Despite all his efforts throughout college, his heart still fluttered at the sight of the man.
Derek shifted awkwardly, suddenly in front of him, and Stiles realised that he must have been talking. He felt his cheeks warm.
“I’m sorry, what?” Stiles asked, trying his best not to sound rude, but epically failing.
Derek’s permanent frown deepened. “I asked how you were, Stiles.”
“Oh! Right. Sorry,” he apologised. “I’m good, man. I’m doing good. What about you?”
Derek shrugged. “Could be worse.”
“Liar,” Stiles grinned. “I heard you finally got Hale & Co. away from that creepy uncle of yours and became CEO.”
Derek quirked an eyebrow. “Where did you here that?”
“Oh, um. Erica told me,” he lied. Truth be told, he hadn’t put that much… Effort into his efforts through college. During his third year, he had given into his curiosity and checked up on Derek on Facebook, only to find that he had become insanely successful. How he’d done that in less than three years, Stiles couldn’t fathom. It must be a Hale thing.
“Right,” Derek said skeptically, sounding amused. “Whereabouts are you staying at the moment?”
“Well, I’ve been in Beacon Hills for a while, but I’m moving to New York soon. I got a job at a law firm there.”
“I’m also in New York. We should grab coffee when you get there.”
“Call it a date,” Stiles grinned, only half-joking. When he realised what he had just said, he felt his face flush and backpedalled quickly. “Uh, I mean, um. Not that, I-”
“It can be a date if you want,” Derek interrupted, and, for once, he actually looked a little unsure of himself.
