there was always an air of unspoken affection between the two. meredy cared for juvia more than words could describe, yet she didn’t know when those emotions might’ve morphed into something else. something new. for someone who was seemingly in tune to such cries of the heart, she couldn’t even recognize that same yearning within herself. 

meredy lifted her eyes, a soft smile brightening her features. lips trembling in quiet admiration, she reached for juvia’s delicate hand. her other lifted to dare to brush an aqua strand behind her ear. all these actions and thoughts were new territory for her. her fingers shook softly, as the anxiety of those feelings came rushing in. meredy was never good that these types of things, opening up and sharing a heart-to-heart. the last time she did with juvia, she broke down into a waterfall of tears.

the rose colored girl looked at juvia long and hard, forcing herself not to steer her gaze.   ❛ but i  .  .  .  do love you, juvia. maybe .  .  . ❜   she trailed off gently, pulling away slowly.   ❛ maybe in a way that i’m afraid to admit. ❜   

love, belonging to somebody emotionally, was terrifying to meredy. the last time she left her heart bare to another, she wound up hurt in ways that took years to begin healing. but that uncertainty didn’t haunt her when it came to the rain woman. as she lightly squeezed juvia’s palm in hers, meredy thought maybe, just maybe–––she would be different.

Meredy / Juvia + connection

Oops, I didn’t post anything yesterday but guys I will post two today. Here’s the first! 21/28

It was definitely a surprise to see the small chat bubble on the screen. She leaned over to her best friend, whispering into the blonde’s ear. “Juvia thinks someone liked her.”

Lucy squealed aloud and snatched her smartphone from her hands. Pink reflected in her brown eyes from the overly bright screen. Her teeth flashed as her thumbed away at the keyboard. “This is so good, Juvs! I didn’t even get a match so quick- Wait…”

Juvia looked down at the phone, blushing as soon as she recognized the girl who shared the same art class as her. Lucy jumped up and pushed the phone back into her hands. “That’s Meredy! And she totally digs you, say something, now.”

“But- What does Juvia even say?” Juvia blinked, unfamiliar with the antics of flirting.

“Oh, I don’t know. Just say how much you dig her. Honesty is always the best policy.” Lucy winked and popped her hip out in a teasing manner.

She looked down at the text box, starting to nervously type away. Being an exchange student, her English was horrible. With a couple tweaks from Lucy, she pressed down on the blue arrow. She hoped the message wasn’t too long and that she hadn’t used too many emojis.

Juvia almost jumped from the park bench as soon as a harp-like tune was strummed. It followed with a high pitched ring, her phone singing out. “You have just made a Cupid Connection!”
