Merycoidodon
Merycoidodon — вимерлий рід травоїдних парнокопитних родини Merycoidodontidae, більш відомий під назвою Oreodon. Він був ендемічним для Північної Америки в період від середнього еоцену до середнього міоцену (46-16 млн років тому) та існував приблизно 30 мільйонів років.

Merycoidodon culbertsoni
This is a Merycoidodon culbertsoni from the White River Formation of South Dakota. This section of White River Formation dates to about 30 million years ago when the Rocky Mountains were violently uplifting to the West.
Oreodonts like this Merycoidodon were amongst the most common critters in their environment, browsing a diversity of vegetation, and maybe, even supplementing their diet with meat from time to time.
Our upcoming 5th member of Paleo Pals® is an animal from close to the same time as these oreodonts… Any guesses?
