(Αντουάν Μπον, 1901-1972) υπήρξε Γάλλος αρχαιολόγος, μέλος της Γαλλικής Σχολής Αθηνών (1924), ο οποίος εργάστηκε κατά την περίοδο 1924-1931 στην Πελοπόννησο, τη Θάσο και άλλες περιοχές, και ασχολήθηκε με την αναστήλωση κάστρων και μνημείων. Υπήρξε μανιώδης ερασιτέχνης φωτογράφος και φωτογράφιζε όλα τα μέρη που επισκεπτόταν. 

Εξέδωσε δύο φωτογραφικά λευκώματα για την Ελλάδα, τα οποία κυκλοφόρησε σε αρκετές επανεκδόσεις: To En Grèce, με εισαγωγικό κείμενο του Fernand Chapouthier (εκδ. Ρ. Hartmann, Παρίσι 1932), που περιέχει 118 φωτογραφίες του, και το Retour en Grèce με κείμενο του F. Chapouthier (Παρίσι 1934), που περιέχει 133 φωτογραφίες του.

From my project ''Chateaux Forts de Grece''.

In 2006 the fortresses were exhibited at the Byzantine Museum, '' Byzantines Fortress in Greece'' then, in 2007 the French Embassy in Athens undertook major exhibitions on the ''Fortresses of Greece''-''Chateaux forts de Grece'' in Rhodes, Kalamata, Patras, Athens, Nafplio. To κάστρο στη μορφή που σώζεται σήμερα είναι Φράγκικο. Κτίστηκε τον 13ο αιώνα στα θεμέλια ενός παλιότερου Βυζαντινού φρουρίου που είχε κτιστεί στη θέση αρχαίας ακρόπολης.

Υπήρξε ένα από τα πιο σημαντικά κάστρα στην Πελοπόννησο επί Φραγκοκρατίας

On the coast of the Ionian Sea at the southwestern tip of the Peloponnese, there is a rather unusual structure - the Fairy-tale castle of Agrili.⁣ ⁣ It was built in the 1960s by an American surgeon of Greek descent, Harry Fournier, who wanted to live his dream. The walls of the castle are painted with murals and frescoes from medieval stories about Tristan and Isolde, Ivanhoe, King Arthur, and the Knights of the Round Table. In the courtyard, there are three huge sculptures: the goddess Athena, Poseidon, and a giant sitting horse. There is a library inside the horse.⁣

Greeks have been diachronically perplexed by this castle’s existence.
