Dealing With The Shadow Self - How Overcoming The Psyche & Processing Its Darkness Helped Me.
All the shadow wants is to be loved.
Imma say it again.
All your shadow wants, is to be loved.
The process with dealing with our darkest selves is a problem in society because early on we are taught to believe the skeletons in our closet are to be shamed, unheard and not to be seen. So I ask you this, are you okay with who you are? And if not, what is hiding beneath the surface that you are either not familiar with, or simply ignoring because diving deeper is simply too much?
So when I speak of the shadow I speak of it in a multitude of ways, because there is so much to unpack when dealing with it. Your shadow self, is the being that is your highest self. Didn't you know that? It's the part that gets misunderstood the most, because in this lifetime it is our mission to comprehend the unconscious sides of ourselves so that we can be one with divine knowledge and source. Everything you are is everything you're not. And everything you're not made you everything you are.
The depths we take just to find whats hidden in the dark, is the greatest discovery we will ever make for ourselves. Our darkness covers some of our greatest talent seen and unseen. And when we escape the fear of not remembering, not comprehending, or even knowing, we can escape the blockages that we're on our path to begin with.
Before I knew about my shadows, I use to be ashamed of the things I wanted. Now I surrender to the dark, appreciating what comes up and accepting my differences because its what makes me more powerful. I can escape the feelings and surrender the emotions that had plagued my imagination, just so I could grow into the woman I was designed to be.
Now, as I face this darkness, I uncover so many truths that we're boxed in for societies daily beating. I digress on any topics that hadn't served me in the past. But now am more open to fleeing from the guilt that caused me to close my tongue. My soul needs to breathe, I say. No more playing small, thats what the shadow represents to me. My power was in the tongue, the word was my savior, and I was boxed in and resented even saying a word. Now I say a bunch. I say what needs to be said and I go about my day. I say what my soul wants to speak because my voice was meant to be heard by many. And I absorb the light from the sun, and sing loudly to the apprentices up in the heavens. There I have purpose, here, I have knowledge. I'm meant to be heard and my shadows brought that to my attention.
In time, I've learned so much about the power that I contain. So I do as much as I can to give people the knowledge to understand that their truth is deep in the abyss of the subconscious realm, and thru there, you will find all secrets, all talents, all gifts given from The Most High, so that you can breathe light and share with the masses you're potential. That is the gift the shadow self brings.
In a world where everything is given and nothing is explained, the fecundity of a value or of a metaphysic is a notion devoid of meaning.

reasons to believe... in astrology (part I)
“astrology is a language. if you understand this language, the sky speaks to you.” - dane rudhyar
“the cosmos is within us. we are made of star-stuff. we are a way for the universe to know itself.” - carl sagan
the first quote was said by an astrologer. the second one, by an astronomer.
in case you don't know, the two professions are not different just because of two letters. it is well known that astronomy is a science — rational knowledge based on observation, experimentation and rigorous method; it unites theory, practice and technique, not based on assumptions, but on verification after the application of the scientific method. astrology, in turn, is considered a pseudoscience, since it brings together a set of theories with a scientific appearance, but which are based on false premises and/or do not use rigorous research methods.
some people prefer to call astrology a kind of metaphysics, such as meditation, feng shui or reiki, for example.
personally, i stick to that last definition. in my point of view, astrology fits perfectly into the category of something beyond the physics and matter.
to be honest, i feel a little offended when i see someone saying that the study of the stars influence is a pseudoscience. although, i have professed this thought for 2/3 of my life (and it doesn’t mean i'm old, ok? it’s just that i'm 22 years old and only 3 years ago i started to consider this "pseudoscience").
yes, i was skeptical.
and part of this is due to an astrological positioning of my birth chart... virgo moon, one of the most disbelieving.
i used to not give a fuck about astrology.
meanwhile, some friends of mine, from the school days, were enjoying this topic, i couldn’t understand their interest in that bs. i mean, how come i was a cancerian? dramatic, manipulative, shy crying baby? i was definitely not like that! ok, i was shy, that was true, but i was looking forward to improve my social skills, c’mon. so, no! no megalomaniac and schizophrenic belief would dictate my behavior, let alone my fate. no way planets millions of miles away from me, an insignificant earthling, will influence my personality and choices.
...
it turns out that my astrology’s point of view was too superficial, and so are my friends'. there is not just the sun sign (the one based on our birthdays). a whole solar system needs to be considered, in addition to the house system, the planetary aspects, the midpoints, asteroids (such as lilith and chiron), fixed stars (like spica, the star of abundance, which “explains” the beyoncé phenomenon, for example), the degrees, as well as mathematical points such as vertex and the north and south lunar nodes, which indicates, respectively, our “mission” and “karmic heritage”.
my friends and i were at the tip of an iceberg, although on opposite sides.
to say that astrology is a pseudoscience is naive
firstly because astrology is the firstborn, it came way before astronomy ;)
i know, i know. i know what you're going to say... "first the draft, then the masterpiece". and i agree with you, dear skeptic. i mean, it was really important to set apart the objective and the subjective, the experimentation and the speculation. auguste comte was right, you know?! with his positivism...
to have the science we have today, with all the advances in its most varied fields, it was necessary to “separate the wheat from the chaff”, the physical from mystical.
however, when we did that, we were left naked, helpless. and that’s because we thought/think that the ancient people were the real helpless, that being so desolate for not understanding the world in which they lived in, attributed the explanation of everything to external and invisible forces.
today, we do have the explanation... better, we have several explanations... even better! we have rational explanations for the world we are inserted in, the system in which our world is inserted, the galaxy in which our system is inserted, and so on.
of course, our science is incredible, but there is a lot that it is not yet capable of reach.
it may seem that i am writing all of those things with sarcasm, but that is definitely not my intention. i really worship science! skepticism still runs through my veins... or rather, on my moon lol. and i use it even in my eternal astrology studies.
what i mean by all of this is that we become obsessed with rationality. so obsessed that many of us often fall into the culmination of it: nihilism.
who said rationality is all that matters? have you ever tried to use reason when you should’ve followed the impulse of emotion and regretted it because you wasted time "thinking too much" to the point that you missed the opportunity?... i know. i've been there too. and, tbh, i'm still working on it.
so, that would be one of the proofs that rationality can be as unreliable as emotion.
thus, to say that astrology is a pseudoscience is naive because this ancient science is not among us willing to meet the skeptical expectations of rationality and logic (although, when we study the influence of the stars we realize that there is a logic of their own)
...
at this point, you can see that there’s a contradiction in the title, right? reasons to believe?! seriously?!
but i tell you there are reasons!
in addition to everything that has already been presented (everything that is in bold), there is one in particular that has to do with the Moon and, consequently, with us women.
˙+. you can read the part II here.
it’s okay to love others from a distance. You don’t need to be at the center of it all in order to make a difference. In fact, most often it is the smallest ripples that create the biggest change. In order to create a wake of tsunamis, you must be strong enough to speak your truth against the masses that silence your voice.
