Metoprolol wird in der Leber fast ausschließlich von einem einzigen Enzym (CYP2D6) abgebaut. Fluoxetin hemmt die Wirkung dieses Enzyms. Dann kann es zu einem starken Anstieg der Wirkstoffkonzentration im Blutplasma kommen. Im schlimmsten Fall führt das zu einem starken Abfall des Blutdrucks und extrem langsamem Herzschlag. Die Folgen sind Schwindel, Atemnot, extreme Erschöpfung, Müdigkeit oder Koma.

I’m bad with names, but one of my mutuals was saying her insurance wasn’t giving her metoprolol for POTS. If you see this, metoprolol is pretty cheap without insurance, so I’d go that route while waiting on insurance to decide if it’s needed (which it is, ugh). Also, check GoodRx to see if there’s a coupon there. Sorry I’m the worst, I know what you look like and your icon, but brain fog is the struggle.
