As the Stars Twinkle
I stare into the endless night’s sky
And wonder if you are watching
The same stars twinkle
Thinking of what was
I wish on every shooting star
That you are happier now
That you do not have to be
Someone else’s sunrise
I am looking up at those stars
Reminiscing in the constallations
As they take the form of
My favorite memories
It’s funny how they all
Look like you
I close my eyes
So I do not remember
What will never be again
And the nostalgia fades
Into the darkness
I will not let myself cry
You are better off
Without my starless sky
Empty from so-called-gods
Plucking away my light
I’ll see you again
In the next sunrise
And remember everything
You did for me
But until then
I hope you’ll
Think of me
As the stars twinkle
