High-Stakes TikTok U.S. Sale Lawsuit: What It Means for Creators, Brands, and the App’s Future
The TikTok U.S. sale lawsuit is the clearest sign yet that TikTok’s “saved” status in America may still be on shaky ground. Even after reports of a roughly $14 billion arrangement to shift TikTok’s U.S. business into a new structure led by American investors, a new legal challenge…

In a major resolution to years of intense regulatory scrutiny and national security debates, TikTok has finalized a transformative agreement to establish a new U.S.-based joint venture. The deal transfers significant control of its American operations to non-Chinese investors, averting a potential nationwide ban on the wildly popular short-video app used by over 170 million Americans.

TikTok has reached an agreement to spin off its US operations into a new company controlled mainly by American investors in accordance with
Caleb Ecarma at Oligarch Watch:
TikTok has reached an agreement to spin off its US operations into a new company controlled mainly by American investors in accordance with a law passed in 2024. Among its new owners will be Oracle, the software company led by Donald Trump ally and centibillionaire Larry Ellison.
The new US entity will manage TikTok’s powerful algorithm and the extensive user data the app has gathered from the more than 150 million Americans who have used it. But the algorithm itself will reportedly remain under the ownership and maintenance of Beijing-based ByteDance, with oversight from American auditors, although details regarding that arrangement remain murky.
The deal is scheduled to close on January 22, according to an internal memo reviewed by Axios.
The new ownership group, including Oracle, private equity firm Silver Lake, and UAE state investment firm MGX, will collectively control 45% of the new US TikTok company. Current ByteDance investors will hold roughly one-third of the new entity, while ByteDance itself will retain about 20%. The company will be managed by a seven-member board of directors, the majority of whom will be US citizens.
TikTok in the US is under new ownership, as it has officially reached a deal to spin off its US operations in line with a 2024 law.
The partnership will consist of Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX, and ByteDance will retain 20% of the ownership.

A long awaited deal for TikTok to be sold from it’s Chinese handlers has finally been completed thanks to U.S. President Trump clearing the way. We will continue to see the output and outpouring of patriotic love across all of the algorithms as a hidden gem…

Trump announced a $500 billion joint venture between OpenAI, Softbank, MGX and Oracle to build new datacenters to power the next wave of AI.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced a $500 billion joint venture between OpenAI, Softbank, MGX and Oracle to build new datacenters to power the next wave of artificial intelligence (AI) – in an early signal that his Administration would embrace the technology.
The plans, which predate the Trump Administration and involve no U.S. government funds, would result in the construction of large datacenters on U.S. soil containing thousands of advanced computer chips required to train new AI systems.
OpenAI and Oracle have been working on building out datacenter capacity in the United States since long before Trump’s inauguration, and construction is reportedly already underway on some of the facilities connected to Stargate. The new President’s blessing, however, is a win both for OpenAI – which like all tech companies has attempted to position itself in Trump’s favor – and for Trump himself, who has seized on AI as a means for strengthening the U.S. economy and achieving dominance over China.
Stargate would mean not only the construction of new datacenters to house the latest chips, but also the construction of new energy infrastructure that could supply those datacenters with the gargantuan amount of power needed for an AI training run. Those runs can last for months, with chips running day and night to mold a neural network based on connections within a vast corpus of data.
“They have to produce a lot of electricity, and we’ll make it possible for them to get that production done very easily, at their own plants if they want – at the AI plant they will build their own energy generation and that will be incredible,” Trump said Tuesday. “It’s technology and artificial intelligence, all made in the USA.”
Much of this electricity is likely to come from fossil fuels. Trump has committed to “unleash” oil and gas drilling, and has moved to block the grid’s transition to renewable energy. To cope with the rising demand by U.S. data centers for electricity, utilities companies have delayed retiring coal-fired power plants and have added new gas plants.
Haven't many folk been pointing out our failing power grid for the demand we currently have? This is one of the objects Trump is gonna use to FUCK the Paris Climate Pledge. The amount of water that would need to be used along with the energy demand is disastrous when combined with this administrations lack of care to the environment or the quality of life for civilians.
So before megamax even disbanded their insta account took down every pic that had Jaehun in it. What’s with companies taking down and getting rid of media with former members I don’t get it? And now like I’m still mad and upset about great guy’s separation but like their account is now being used for their new group like first of all why didn’t dna give them their own account so donghwi, horyeong and baegyeol could have their own memories still on their account and second why did they even debut a new group when they had great guys and I feel like they deserved so much better. Imo great guys could’ve been popular like the boyz or something like they’re a big group but every member was talented and now the three members are going to get swept under the rug because the new group plus it’s like dna is trying to promote both groups together like a collab and I hate it. I hate that great guys just separated and I hate how the members were treated and I hate that there wasn’t even any news on why jaei left like he never came back. Did he enlist, did he leave the group? No one knows. Like I wish they could’ve just gone to another company same with vav but I guess they were just done. I hate that I can’t find any info on my favs either because the fandoms are so small for less popular groups it sucks :(
