⦻ Author's Note(s): Can't sleep right now, so I decided to write some Tim comfort instead. I deal with migraines from my mom's side of the family and they're such bitches. This is for all the baddies out there who also deal with migraines.

You've felt it in the back of your head since this morning, sitting there, almost as if it were a storm, patiently brewing. It sat with you most of the day, as if a predator, lying in wait, up until the moment you got home.

You felt it, your head beginning to ache, just behind your eyes as you drove home from work, and you had to bite your cheek in frustration, knowing full well what was coming.

You hoped it would've gone away on its own, it did that sometimes. But today, it obviously decided it stuck around, and so, you got home, stepped inside, and followed the steps you learned, whether it was watching it from others, such as family members who also suffered with such migraines, or you learned it by yourself, you knew what to do.

Firstly, you set your things at the door and locked it behind you, before you made a stop at your kitchen cabinet to grab some pain meds. Next, you went upstairs to your bedroom and shut the curtains, drawing the bedroom into complete darkness. Then, you went to your bathroom and started a warm shower.

You stripped off your clothes carefully, as if any sudden movements would agitate your aching head further. Slow, smoothly, carefully. Then the warmth of the water greeted and enveloped you once you stepped in, and you just soaked it until your body ultimately relaxed.

The shower helped, it usually did, but it didn't work like magic, the migraine was still there, taunting you, and you couldn't help but bite your lip in frustration. Heading back down the stairs to retrieve your wrap-around ice pack, you grabbed your flip phone and sent Tim a quick text, simple and to the point.

‘Migraine kind of night, please don't be loud when you get back.’

The stairs creaked as you made your way back up to your bedroom, the flip phone promptly being abandoned on your nightstand as you slipped the ice pack on and sunk into your bed.

Rolling up onto the driveway, Tim's truck rumbled to a stop, the old thing creaking with a jolt as he put it in park and shut off the engine. Tim received your text earlier and had made it a point to grab something on the way home, knowing you'd probably want to eat later if you weren't feeling so nauseous.

He got out of the truck and slammed the door shut behind him, and trudged up to the house with the takeout bag in hand. Quietly entering the house, he moved quickly, putting the bag in the fridge and heading to the downstairs bathroom for a quick shower, not wanting to bother you by using your shared one upstairs.

Once he finished and was dried off, he made his way upstairs and into your bedroom, being sure not to make any noise if he could help it. Once in the dark bedroom, he shuffled to the drawer and slipped on a pair of his boxers before he joined you in bed, rumbling a soft, “Hey sweetheart, it's me.” as he slid up next to you. You let out a soft hum in acknowledgement as he carefully gathered you up in his arms, his warm hands soothing over your skin until one hand found its way to the back of your neck. His hand was warm and firm as it rubbed up and down your neck, up to the base of your skull that made you let out this relieved moan.

“You feelin’ any better from earlier?” He asked, continuing the ministrations. “A little bit…” You managed softly, almost reluctant to speak.

He carefully slipped off the ice pack, pressing a warm kiss to your forehead, “Let's take a small break from this then and see how you feel.” You didn't open your eyes, just nodded and scooted closer to him, burying your face into his shoulder. “Thank you…” You mumble quietly, barely audible as you sink into him. “Don't thank me for the bare minimum.” He tsked softly, pressing another kiss, this time to the side of your hair, “Just focus on feeling better.”

“Mhm…” You exhale, focusing on his fingers as they would knead at your skin and scalp, helping you relax as best as you could.

Migraines were certainly the worst, at some points, borderline unbearable. But with your lover Tim, he somehow always managed to make it easier to cope with. Maybe that man was magical. Either way, you weren't complaining, you had everything you needed right now, and that was enough.
