De Niro is a native New Yorker – unlike most of the Congressional MAGA flunkies who flew up to NYC with their matching red neckties to display public fealty to the Dear Leader. De Niro didn't take shit from one MAGA zombie. The whole thing was all very New York.

With De Niro were Harry Dunn and Michael Fanone, two of the police officers who were injured defending the US Capitol from pro-Trump terrorists on January 6th.

The event started off with comments from Biden-Harris communications director Michael Tyler. When giving his personal opinion of Trump, De Niro went further than the Biden campaign may have anticipated; although De Niro had a script, he didn't feel obliged to constantly stick to it. 🙂

You probably know that I love these videos. A Roman Historian rates movie Roman battles. I learn a lot of the reality of combat, some of which brings a little realism to my games.

Gretchen certainly seems to be up to something. No longer living in a sewer grate has done wonders for her motivation levels.

Michael doesn't really find anything suspicious going on. Just like, two days ago he was rambling about how he didn't really think he was one to settle down. Free spirit and all that. He's pretty certain Gretchen's the one, though.

Whatever she gets into while he's sleeping, whenever he's awake she gets to tidying up. Those human woman guides she read said something about doing menial cleaning tasks in exchange for trust, and she is pretty bent on getting Michael to trust her.

He's glad to leave behind a lot of messes, though.

Despite her success in convincing a fellow regular human to trust her, she misses the social circle she obtained from the prime location of the sewer grate. She gets a bit lonely pretty easily.

She takes charge of the phone to invite over one of her friends. Camila shows up as well, but she didn't have much going on aside from becoming best friends with Michael.

The friend is offput by Michael immediately bringing up Gundam.

Despite the thrill of meeting such a powerful human deity, Gretchen has to say no.

The other upside of sharing a house is that Michael is glad to distract and be distracted by houseguests while she gets back to whatever it is she's doing.

Michael wakes up in the morning and heads off to work in a pretty great mood.

Then he comes home and makes the most pathetic face after realizing he has to clean up after his dinner last night.

As a reward, he asks Gretchen out on a date. He's thinking strategically. If he takes her out to dinner now, he can eventually convince her to move in and have double income and eventually hire a maid. Or she might be more willing to handle dishes.

He takes her to the only place to eat in town that isn't a dive bar.

Unlike Mary, he can actually afford to pay for a dinner. Apparently both he and Gretchen have expensive tastes and wanted the lobster. Whatever. It was at least going to fill him... until this stupid fucking teenager stole his plate right in front of him?

Not cool.

Michael isn't about to let this alien chick know that sort of thing would bother him. He can totally afford to pay for someone else's lobster. He's so wealthy. Sure she's already seen the inside of his house but like, that's minimalism. Besides, when he asked her where SHE lives she just shrugged and said it's a nice spot around the sewer grate by the river.

She lives here now. And they're official.

She just had to bring over some of her personal items from that sewer grate she lives in. Michael didn't really ask what they were for. It's none of his business. She said she works as a "Home Video Editor", which sounds like a perfectly regular human job to him. Besides, it looks cool.

Michael Tyler brought a friend home from work today. She had to tell him about her new housemate. Also, the days are out of sync already, which is so annoying.

He had to call and chat with some of his friends, because they sent him psychic threats about losing them if he doesn't speak to them every single day. Usually, that's just called anxiety, but in the sims this is normal.

Camila is also doing the same, so he answered a call from her right after that while Mary sat around on his futon. He never even gets a chance to change out of his work uniform.

He wanted to invite over the girl he's been hitting it off with, so Gretchen came right over and he told her the one with the beach ball. She finds him hilarious. Mary's still there. She questions if he's going to get around to feeding them or if she should just go home already.

He whips up a batch of burnt rice.

Gretchen hesitates, but decides to eat two bowls of it anyway.

She's head over heels.

A lot of luck going around in this round, isn't there?
