The team not knowing the Believe poster was ripped as a metaphor for Ted always pretending everything is fine to Ted finally telling Michelle things aren’t fine I pipeline is filled with tears
no cuz why is nobody talking about the michelle lasso of it all bc she took the two of them to HER therapist to do couples therapy, secretly fell in love w him, and she convinced him it was HIS FAULT they were getting a divorce WHY DOES DR JACOB STILL HAVE HIS LICENSE OH MY GOD
Not a day goes by without me thinking about this.
So, to the surprise of no one, I've come up with yet another Ted Lasso AU. So, without further ado, here's some of my notes about my slightly unholy AU that my brain decided to make after binging Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Unbreakable Ted Lasso.
Ted and Michelle had just met each other in a parking lot outside of the Texas Roadhouse that Michelle worked at when Reverend Jacob pulled up and kidnapped them both
Michelle and Ted got married in the cult, their divorce requires absolutely no paperwork because they technically weren't legally married in the first place
Henry was born in the cult and is actually pretty well-adjusted after getting rescued for some inexplicable reason
After getting rescued from the cult (which was in an underground bunker in Kansas) Ted, Michelle, and Ted appear on a talk show in London and Ted decides to stay in Richmond to give Michelle the space she wants and wanders around until he finds an apartment and moves in with Beard (who he knows because he was his college roommate back before he got kidnapped), their landlady/local bartender is Mae
Beard has been trying to get parts in Shakespearean plays or any plays really for the past ten years, works at a local BDSM club
Rebecca is a local rich woman who is in the process of getting divorced from her absolute dickwad of a husband
Ted runs into Nora while he’s wandering around and looking for a job and Nora is like “you’re really fucking weird. It’s awesome” and brings him home and makes Rebecca hire him as her new nanny
Rebecca and Bex are both living at the same place because Bex just left Rupert, and Nora is staying with Rebecca because her mom is on a year-long stay in America for her job
So the kids at Rebecca’s house consist of Bex’s baby, Lydia, and Nora
Trent is a journalist that Rebecca brings to her party in the hopes she can get him to run a piece exposing the abuse her and Bex faced within their marriages to Rupert, Ted accidentally flirts with him the whole night and Trent leaves utterly confused but enamored
Ted starts taking some classes at the local community college so he can get a coaching degree and Nate is his study buddy
Beard has somehow dated almost all of the queer community of Richmond
Rebecca still owns AFC Richmond, all the players end up getting really attached to Ted because he occasionally comes to Nelson Road with Nora and Lydia
Episode towards the beginning where Higgins is calling all of Ted’s references who are literally just other couples who had kids in the cult, each time he calls he gets a glowing review but responses that are just slightly off

seeing people say that ted shouldn't have left england because he has his "found family" there whereas he only has henry in kansas and that he's gonna be miserable is so wild to me. did we watch the same show. man was having breakdowns and panic attacks about being away from his kid he was NOT happy in england he was always going to go back to kansas 😭😭😭 "well henry could have moved to england" if you feel more empathy for a grown ass man who very much DID live in kansas for the first 40+ years of his life than for a kid who would have to leave his friends and family and start living in a different country with a completely different school system and who would either not see his mom regularly OR have the most insane split custody arrangement then i think you lack perspective about what is important for a child's stability 😭😭 like be for real
