(Does this mean the cabochon isn’t a buckle? It’s a purely ornamental addition?)
Bonus headcanon: (Prince) Lion-O wears a belt with bling because he likes the way he looks wearing a belt with bling, not because he needs a belt.
King Lion-O needs to attach the Gauntlet to something, so I can’t argue his belt is worn for anything other than practical reasons, and anyway he can no longer indulge in teenage concerns including fashion; but Prince Lion-O doesn’t appear to need a belt, so this could very well be a glimpse of his personal sense of fashion, that at least as a teenage prince he had an interest at all in how he dressed beyond the purely practical, and that is vitally significant information absolutely everyone should know, you’re welcome.
