#microscope photos

Spent the afternoon looking at testes and sperm under a microscope, learning how to identify if an animal is sexually mature, if they are a seasonal or continuous breeder etc. Which is important information for conservation breeding programs and things like that.

We looked at samplesnfrom alpacas, blue tongue skinks, possums, and rats.

so. the nerdiest photo set to ever photo set. 

we looked at different organisms under a microscope in bio class today and our prof. taught us how to take photos with our phones. i thought they were kind of snazzy. 

the first one is a cheek swab, the second is blood cells, the third is neurons, the fourth is skeletal muscle, the fifth is a fungi called penicillium and the last one is a leaf.

A hydrothermal worm, with a toothy beak. It lives off the coast of Washington.

With the lights out, it's less dangerous.
