The best part of being in a GSA in a school with middle and high schoolers is when a bunch (usually 3-8) nervous sixth or seventh graders come in. The club presidents, the freshmen who regularly attend, and I always try to be friendly and we usually end up going around introducing ourselves with our names and pronouns. One of the club presidents who uses they/them pronouns usually starts and generally depending on how comfortable the middle schoolers are we either just jump around or go around tables.

So the last meeting was one of these and there was this super nervous seventh grader who came in alone and sat at my table. Xe was pretty quiet and it took them a while to introduce himself, but xe did do it. They explained that he used they/he/xe pronouns and to please use the xe pronouns because nobody does and jdisidhsbdbd my heart and of course I'm going to respect the fuck out of that kid's pronouns because. Xe fucking deserves it.
