and this is a thing i always think about in regards to street harassment, as there's always that handful of people riled by the fact women might not like benign compliments

because it doesn't bother me when women or gay men take time out of their day to offer a compliment, but from anyone else, it's almost always unwelcome

i mean, really think about what it means when some randomass man stops you and says he finds you "beautiful"

my first thought is always, "okay? AND?" because really, to me, it tells me nothing except that he finds me visually pleasing, and being a visual/sexual pleasure is not something i'm interested in

and i have no doubt that some men really do mean it as nothing more than a harmless compliment (and even so - think about the nature of that compliment), but what i've seen of the machinations of male attraction and how men express it even subconsciously, spoils any chance of my being anything but repulsed

Fleeting Thoughts

iTrips are constantly pooping out on me. I needed a new one. Found a cheap headphone jack player at some place called Micro Center. Everyone that worked there seemed to be at the point in their life when they should be making the ‘Should I shave my head because of this receding hairline or do I do the ‘Caesar’?’ milestone decision. And they were all avoiding it. Each sales associate materializes out of thin air as soon as you said, “Maybe I should ask someone.’ Micro Center appears to be an organized cult of middle class white men, on cusp of their autumn years, providing impeccable customer service.

So my friend had this perfect logic as to why fangirls are in love with middle aged men (besides their obvious beauty): And I quote, "I hate our generation so much. Might as well marry someone from the previous." Like this speaks to me on a spiritual level, dude.
