Kirsten’s QuaranTEEN Reads #36
Maiden Voyage: A Titanic Story by Sarah Jane
Rating: 6.5/10
This is one of those books that you would get at a scholastic fair at school. The advertisement for the book is all about the Titanic, the “unsinkable” ship, that a lot of people died on. This is not the main focus of the book at all because it is probably meant for middle schoolers. The focus is on these three girls; Isabella, Lucy, and Abby and how their lives interact in more ways than one. They are there to reveal secrets and lies. It is all about uncovering these family scandals that makes the book move along. The ship sinking was a brief chapter. I like reading about Titanic stories after watching the movie (which is meant for adults btw). My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion is one of my top favorite songs out there. Listen to that if you have the chance. Anyways back to the book, it a really fast read and I enjoy those books. Unfortunately, if you are looking for a Titanic book, I say pick a different one but if you are interested in scandals this one is perfect for you.
