Little rant bc OH MY GOD....
The secondhand embarrassment I get from fellow arsenal fans on twitter (made a big mistake opening that app) is actually painful 😭
This isn’t even about being a fan of Viv, because clearly a lot them stopped being that the second she left the club. Which is fine; people move on, players move on. That’s football, that’s life.
But what annoys me and does feel weird to me is how everything she does or says somehow turns back into an arsenal ‘fan’ discourse (Including hate and accusations). Every photo, every interview, every random moment gets dragged into the same arguments like it/she still has anything to do with the club.
She looks happy again, on the pitch and off it. And instead of just letting that exist, people keep dragging (old) narratives up like it’s still arsenals - or somehow their own business - when it really isn’t (anymore).
You don’t have to support her. You don’t have to follow her. You don’t even have to care.
Constantly commenting on everything she does or says and making it about arsenal/yourself when she doesn’t even play for your club anymore is just strange behaviour imo.
Either wish her well or ignore it. Both are free.

i may not be a gooner, but i have so much respect for viv, she is a fantastic, accomplished player who has inspired so many girls and women to watch and enjoy (and feel included) in football when they may have not felt that before.
she has accomplished and done so many incredible things and while i’m sad to see her leave the club she’s been at for 7 long years, i know she’ll go on to do even more amazing things, no matter what she does or where she goes.
