C-could you tell a bit please about your roleswap au with KrulAsura and MikaYuu?
There’s nothing much to tell because the story never really properly written, and my plan to make fanfic based on this AU have been suspended indefinitely.
It start out pretty similarly like the canon, unless that Ferid’s interest is with Yuu instead with Mika. Since Ashera is the vampire lord of Sanguinem, he actually did better job than Krul (because as you seen on the canon, he’s MUCH more mature than Krul) and he sniffed Ferid’s plan sooner than what should have happened, saving Yuu and Mika before Ferid can start his massacre.
However we also know how smart Ferid is, and everything still go according to his plan. That is until Ashera eventually kicks Ferid again. The plot then mirrors the canon, unless that, Yuu is dying and Mika escapes, saved by Guren. (Which actually oddly fitting because Mika has close relationship with Saito, and Saito been considered an acquaintance of Guren)
Yuu, now become a vampire, is different than Mika as vampire. He’s much more angsty and rebellious, and although he didn’t have the moral compass of Mika, he still clings on his humanity and looks lowly on “bloodsuckers” including himself. Just like Yuu on the canon, he pretty much careless about his own life and only care on saving Mika.
Meanwhile, Mika retain his super duper friendly personality like what he should be if only he never been turned to vampire. It’s like he’s the best cinnamon roll out there, and he easily makes many friends in both military and the school. You can say that he’s MUCH more successful than Yuu, until he given the chance to awaken his Cursed Gear and find the demon version of Krul. (Which gives the same aesthetic as Mika’s original vampire sword, that is bloody red roses)
The rest of the story never made yet, however the dynamic of Mika and Krul, with Yuu and Ashera, is the unique charm of the story. I portrayed Krul like a demon queen that keeps trying to corrupt Mika, but it never works because Mika is way too damn pure. Meanwhile Yuu is freaking angsty like hella emo, which strangely enough, makes a good synergy with Ashera that’s very calm and mature, always trying to guide Yuu and to comfort him, as Yuu struggles on maintaining humanity and his darker self.
It’s like... Mika and Krul is almost always comedic fluffy slice of life, while Yuu and Ashera is like high octane angst with hurt and comfort.
It’s a strange AU that somehow.... works really well... XD
Sadly I never got the time (or interest) on continuing the story again, because my smut fanfics are much, much more popular and loved.
