"America, Here's My Boy" by Mike Midden & Tom McLaughlin Mike & Tom continue to progress through Song Reader, doing a song together whenever they can.  I haven't been counting, but I think they're halfway through or so.  Their most recent cover is this "America," one they say was inspired by Ennio Morricone and his spaghetti western soundtracks.  A perfect fit!  Beck's covered Morricone before too, opening up some concerts in the '90s with this jam. artist: Mike Midden & Tom McLaughlin Youtube

"Title Of This Song" by Mike Midden and Tom McLaughlin Mike & Tom continue with their "one song a week" project, landing today on "Title Of This Song."  I have to agree with the note on their Youtube where they say they believe they're hitting their stride.  "We have a loose system down and a better understanding of how we want to approach each new song. And it's allowing us to get a little bit more creative," they write.  Sounding good guys!

"Saint Dude" by Tom McLaughlin & Mike Midden

Tom & Mike are doing one cover in one night every week until they're done, sort of a mini-Record Club situation.  This "Saint Dude" is their fourth.  It has a calm vibe, and I like the church organ sound which fits with the lyrics. artist: Tom McLaughlin & Mike Midden Youtube

"Heaven's Ladder" by Tom McLaughlin & Mike Midden Tom & Mike, who plan to do one song every week (roughly), until they're done, gave us "The Wolf On The Hill" last month.  Their end of December track was this, the rare "Heaven's Ladder."  They note that the vocal melody is difficult; is that why this one is so rare?  Also, Beck says it is ok to change the melodies if you must.  :)  Still, it's great to hear another version of this, nice job! artist: Tom McLaughlin & Mike Midden Youtube
