So tomorrow for the airport I'm thinking of switching it up and writing some joshxmike stuff? Y/n?
Confession time!
To make up for lack of activity (exam season is a bitch), I'm now accepting UD confessions. You can send me a confession/headcanon (it doesn't have to be anonymous if you don't want) and I have to post it with no other commentary. I'll start with my own confession: though Mike/Jess is literally my top A1 OTP ship, I actually think Jess/Emily is pretty cute.
Mike/Jess
General:
Rate the Ship - Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OTP to rule all other OTPs
How long will they last? – They last for a long time, maybe even forever. This is a huge surprise to Jess, who never expected him to stay with her for as long as he is, seeing as though he has quite the reputation as a lady-killer.
How quickly did/will they fall in love? – It takes a while for them to fall in love. During the recovery period after Blackwood, they start to lean on each other for support. They begin to sort of reconstruct their relationship as they find ways to fix themselves, cultivating a strong foundation of trust and loyalty that hadn’t been there before.
How was their first kiss? – Mike had a habit of flirting with Jess, even when he was with Emily. He never thought much about it and neither did Emily; she just assumed it was the harmless flirting that he always did. One day, when Mike was broken up with Emily, they got into a playful argument. Jess told him to shut up, to which Mike responded “why don’t you make me.” Without hesitation, Jess yanked him forward and kissed him. Stunned, Mike was speechless; he hadn’t expected her to actually do it. “Well, that was effective. I’ll have to keep that in mind” she says, flipping her hair and smirking.
Wedding:
Who proposed? – Mike. He took her completely by surprise; his usual fear of commitment made her think that marriage was pretty much out of the picture. The actual proposal was quite private; since Jess loved the beach more than anything, he took her for a walk on the shore at sunset. She was so taken aback that she teared up a little.
Who is the best man/men? – The best man is Josh. Though he is markedly bad at dealing with stress, he takes great pride in the title. With help from the other groomsmen (Matt and Chris), he works as hard as he can to make sure that everything goes well.
Who is the bride’s maid(s)? – The maid of honor is Emily, and the bride’s maids are Ashley, Sam, and Jess’ little sister. Jess and Emily became better friends than ever after Blackwood; they realized that they didn’t want something as trivial as a guy to come between them. Though Emily isn’t the fondest of Mike, she still makes sure that their wedding is as perfect as Jess is.
Who did the most planning? – Jess. Well, Jess and Emily. With Emily’s no-nonsense attitude and her eye for taste, she practically becomes their wedding planner. Mike is not allowed anywhere near the plans. “Just try to make sure you show up on time” Emily says dismissively before pushing him out of the door.
Who stressed the most? – Jess. Because she piled all of the planning on her plate, she is the one who worries the most about how it will turn out. Surprisingly, she isn’t worried about the actual act of marrying Mike. Most of her anxiety comes from making sure the plans work out
How fancy was the ceremony? - Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.
Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? – Mike’s maternal cousins. They have a habit of getting very drunk and very loud. Somehow, they find out about the wedding and show up anyway.
Sex:
Who is on top? – Usually Mike is, though they often switch it up. It really just depends on the mood they’re in. They have a tendency to get bored with things if they’re too consistent, so they’re constantly trying new positions and roleplaying.
Who is the one to instigate things? – Mike. To be honest, Mike is always ready to get down and dirty. Of course, he respects when she tells him no.
How healthy is their sex life? - Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now
How kinky are they? - Straight missionary with the lights off | 2 | 3 | 4 | Might try some butt stuff and toys | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Don’t go into the sex dungeon without a horse’s head
How long do they normally last? – Let’s just say that practice makes perfect. They’ve gotten so good at judging how hard to go relative to time that they can get some in between class periods.
Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? – Definitely. Though, if it’s somebody’s birthday or something, the other person may be a bit more generous than usual.
How rough are they in bed? - Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it.
How much cuddling/snuggling do they do? - No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory.
Children:
How many children will they have naturally? – None. The whole concept of pregnancy freaks Jess out, and Mike is almost less enthusiastic about it than her. After all, hospital bills are expensive.
How many children will they adopt? – Two, both of them girls.
Who gets stuck with the most diapers? – Mike. He is a lot better than Jess is at doing them because he used to babysit his neighbor’s kids all the time.
Who is the stricter parent? – Mike is stricter about dating. When it comes to making sure they don’t do stupid shit to get themselves killed, Jess is much stricter.
Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? – Jess. Mike almost seems to encourage the dangerous stuff. One time, they even got him to be the cameraman for one of their stupid stunts.
Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? – Neither. They usually just send their kids off with ten bucks for lunch.
Who is the more loved parent? – Mike usually yells at them less, so he is considered the “fun parent,” but they really love their parents equally.
Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings?- Mike. The soccer moms love fawning over him, so much so that some of them send their kids home with baked goods for him.
Who cried the most at graduation? – Mike, though he’d try his hardest to hide it.
Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? – Mike. On the ride back from the police station, he just says “let’s just keep this between us. The less your mother knows about this the better.”
Cooking:
Who does the most cooking? – Neither. The amount that they eat out is actually scary.
Who is the pickiest in their food choice? – Jess. She doesn’t really like super spicy foods, and is allergic to shellfish. In contrast, Mike will eat almost anything given that it’s not brussel sprouts.
Who does the grocery shopping?- Mike, though Jess makes a detailed list of everything she wants him to get for her. By the end of the trip, two thirds of what he buys is for Jess. He has to take a whole other trip just to get the things he wanted in the first place.
How often do they bake desserts? – Not very often, usually because they end up getting cake batter everywhere. This causes them to lick the cake batter off of each other and, well, you can probably see where it goes from there.
Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? – They are definitely carnivores. Sometimes Jess likes to pretend that she likes salads, but she always ends up eating off of Mike’s plate.
Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? – Mike. Knowing how much Jess likes to be treated like a lady, he makes it very classy: candles, glassware, romantic music, the whole shebang.
Who is more likely to suggest going out? – Jess. She absolutely hates doing the dishes and cleaning up after cooking.
Who is more likely to burn the house down accidentally while cooking? - Jess. Mike can hardly stop laughing long enough to help her put it out. Much to her chagrin, he calls her Katniss for the rest of the week because she was “the girl on fire.”
Chores:
Who cleans the room? – Mike. He is actually quite the neat freak, something Jess didn’t really expect when she first moved in.
Who is really against chores? – Jess. She hates putting forth unnecessary effort in general, so she is by far the messier of the two.
Who cleans up after the pets? – Mike. That was their agreement; if Mike wanted a dog, he would have to be the one to clean up after it.
Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? – Jess. Mike has to go behind her and actually clean everything.
Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? – Jess. She likes to be the model of a perfect hostess. Hours before guests arrive, she can be found running around the house like a madman trying to make sure everything looks nice.
Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? – Mike. He found at least ten dollars’ worth of loose change and ones while cleaning. How the hell did they lose all of this in the span of a month?
Misc:
Who takes the longer showers/baths? – Jess. Much to Mike’s frustration, she takes forever to get ready. “That’s just the price of beauty darling” she calls from the bathroom.
Who takes the dog out for a walk? – Both. They find themselves looking forward to the part of their day where they can drop everything they’re doing to go for a walk.
How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? – They’re pretty competitive when it comes to having the best decorations. Determined to be the best looking house on the street, they spend a lot of their time making sure that it looks festive.
What are their goals for the relationship? – If they are not having fun, then they’re not doing it right. This relationship is all about making each other laugh and pushing each other out of each other’s comfort zones. While they may be serious about each other, they aren’t serious about much else.
Who is most likely to sleep till noon? – Both. Their sleep schedules may be screwed up, but at least they’re screwed up together.
Who plays the most pranks? – They’re both pretty terrible pranksters. April Fools’ Day turns into a blood bath. Eventually, they end up uniting their pranking forces and pulling the ultimate pranks on all of their friends.
Prompt: “What about this: Mike (and everyone else) survives until dawn. Because he got attached to the wolf he befriended in the game, he starts to look for a wolf-dog to keep with him.”

“Wait, are you serious right now?” Jess folded her arms and raised one eyebrow incredulously at Mike.
“Hell yes. I’m adopting a dog. Do you want to come with me or not?”
Looking him over, Jess tried to comprehend what was happening. Yesterday, Mike was as stoic as a rock. Blackwood verged on three weeks ago, and every day since then, Jess had to wrench even the smallest smiles from him. His charming, witty personality had all but disappeared. It made sense; Jess couldn’t even imagine what he’d gone through or what he’d seen. So she had waited patiently, working tirelessly to pull out his personality again.
Now he was standing outside of her door, keys in hand, ready to whisk her away. And he was smiling. Jess didn’t know what kind of voodoo magic had occurred over that night, but she was not about to question it.
Prompt: Somewhat angsty Jess/Mike, where Jess is feeling heavily dejected because of her appearance after the wendigo attack, and Mike attempts to encourage her that she's still beautiful
“Hey, are you ready to go?“
Jess stood in front of her full length mirror. She’dbeen standing there for ten minutes, just staring at her reflection. As ifsomehow, the figure in front of her would morph, the violent purple bruisesfading away.
“Yeah,” She responded absently, “Just five moreminutes.”
Jess could practically hear Mike roll his eyes. “Okay, but our reservation is in ten minutes.”
Gently, she traced her finger over the angry pinkscars engraved in her smooth skin. They littered her completion, raked acrossher chest recklessly. Peeking out from under her blouse was a long gash held togetherwith tiny black stiches.
The mirror fixed her, entranced her. She was stuckstaring at her deformed figure. Jess had spent hours on her makeup that night, and somehow she still looked hideous. All she could see in her reflection was agiant wound.
“Jess.” Mikecalled again, obviously impatient.
She slid on a jacket with shaking hands, pulling downthe sleeves as far as they could go to hide her bruises. Taking one lastdisappointed look, she stepped out of the bathroom to face him.
Mike smiled when he saw her. “There she is. Let’s go,they give up your table if you’re too late.”
All of the sudden, Jess felt sick. Her stomach churnedas she pictured sitting in that restaurant, feeling everyone’s eyes on her. Onlyrecently had she gotten up the courage to show her face to Mike, and only afterhours of strategically planning her outfit so that it hid the worst of hertrauma. But the thought of all those people staring at her, knowing that theywere all thinking she was ghastly, made her want to crawl back into bed andnever get out again.
“Mike, I… I don’t…” She began, her face flushing.
Concerned, Mike dropped his coat and walked quickly toher aid. “What’s up?”
God, what was she even doing here? Who was shekidding, pretending to go out with him like everything was still normal?Looking over him, she felt so inferior and small.
Jess stepped backward, pushing him lightly away fromher. “Why are you here Mike?”
“So we can go to our dinner?”
“No,” she continued, “Why are you here with me? Whydon’t you just leave?”
Mike abandoned his car keys on the coffee table, hisconcern outweighing his urgency.
“What are you talking about?”
Scoffing, Jess turned away from him and caught herselfreflecting off of the shining surface of the television.
“Come on, look at me. I look like a walking disaster!”
Seeing her fixation on her reflection, Mike stepped inbetween her and the TV screen. She turned to move away from him again, but hecaught her by the arm before she could.
“You’re not a disaster, Jess.”
“Yeah right.” She said quietly, beginning to fold inon herself. Jess had never felt this small before, this useless. “I havenothing to offer you anymore. I’m not smart, like Em. You might as well go backto her. At least she doesn’t look horrible.”
Vehemently shaking his head, Mike tried to grab herhand. “Stop. Don’t do that. I want to be with you.”
“Why?” demanded Jess, yanking her hand away from him.
“Do you want to know what I see when I look at you?”
Jess nodded dejectedly, already knowing what he wasgoing to say.
“I see my strong, beautiful girlfriend. I see acompassionate girl who can kick ass and look good doing it. I’m not with you becauseyou’re pretty, which you are by the way. I’m with you because I like you. And noamount of scars are going to change that.”
Slowly, Jess began to straighten up. “Really?”
“Absolutely.”
“Okay.” she sighed, exhaling some of her anxiety. “SorryI freaked out.”
Mike took her hand and pulled her into a light kiss. When then broke, gave the large scare on her check another peck.
Blushing, Jessica smiled and picked up his keys. “Ifwe want to make it to the restaurant we’d better leave now.”
“We can stay in tonight. We’ll just go anotherweekend.”
“No,” she insisted, “I need to get out thereeventually. I can’t stay hidden in my house forever.”
“Are you sure.”
Giving his hand a squeeze, she nodded. “Yeah.Positive.”
Hospital Chair (Mike x Jess/MikexSam brOTP/ SamxJosh)
Ending where all survive and Josh becomes a wendigo. After the events at the Lodge all 7 kids are trying to come to terms with everything that happened, however, not everyone is talking. One-shot, fluffy, etc.
Sam awoke in a sweat. Bolting upright in her bed her lungs seemed to scream for air. There was no danger; nothing was chasing her, the sun splashed across her face through the window. The light bounced off the walls and made the room all fuzzy. Pushing the covers back she paused and took a deep breath before placing her feet on the floor. “It’s okay,” she told herself. She lifted herself off the bed, her muscles still protesting even two weeks on. The bathroom mirror revealed mostly healed cuts and the last of the bruises were fading to yellow. She showered but that did not make her feel any cleaner. A buzz made her jump as she was lacing up her boots. A message from Ashleigh appeared on her phone.
