One more thing that stands out to me is that Emily and Matt go back down the mountain for her bag, which we later learn contains her underwear. Why on earth did she put her underwear in a separate bag from her main bag?

Established Ashley/Emily could have so many diff dynamics but personally I'm a fan of Ash being the weird little creature she is, giving Emily cool rocks she found and being all 'I love my gf!!!!' and Emily adores her.

Sam was the only one who at the end of everything actually gave a shit abt Emily and I think abt that a lot. Like with the gun scene she's the only one who actively tries to stop Mike shooting her.

Emily Davis <3 (she's very complex and I have a few thoughts abt her).

Lesbian who has suffered from comphet for a very long time.

She had a crush on Jess.

She very paranoid about her friends/partners hurting her due to the whole Jess/Mike thing and it's part of why she's so mean. People can't hurt you if you keep them at an arm's length, y'know. She acts like she's indifferent so if she's betrayed again they won't be able to tell that they've actually upset her. (This is not justification for the way she treats Matt at all, just an explanation).

Her parents are quite distant which led to her acting out as a child/teen to get their attention but after a while she gave up.

She befriended Jess at the start of high school.

Her family are the 2nd richest of the whole group's. Which means if they can't all hang out in Josh's massive fuckoff house they'll show up at Emily's instead.

She likes to host parties at her home but unlike Josh hers tend to be a little more controlled. Nobody wants to do anything that'd land her in trouble because Emily would destroy them.

She's quite artsy, she likes designing things, anything from rooms to clothes. She's got a drawer of these drawings and actually does know how to make clothes.

In school she usually helped design/make the costumes for all the drama kids for their preformances and stuff. (Josh is the one who usually begged her to do it but she actually does enjoy that kind of thing).

She's probably one of the smartest people out of the UD group.

She has borderline personality disorder.

(post-game) Sam becomes a very good friend of hers (bc lets be honest Sam seems to be one of very few ppl who gave 2 shits abt her) and helps her accept her sexuality.

(post-game) Her and Jess mend their relationship. Bc Mike is not worth all that.

She did gymnastics as a kid.

She's been friends with Matt since they were like, tiny.

Her and Josh are really good friends. At least up until the prank.

She knows the group through Beth.

She often admires Sam's confidence, as she is pretty insecure herself.

She often puts on a dumb/aloof persona to make herself more funny and likable but she's not actually stupid. Like she's not academic by any means but she's actually decent in school when she puts her mind to it.

She's bisexual.

She's dyslexic.

She has had a crush on Ashley before.

Her bed is full of stuffed animals.

As much as she likes to mess with her friends if anyone actually tried to bully them in school she would single-handedly destroy their reputation. She was a very popular girl in high school.

She has ADHD.

She's afraid of many different animals but she has a pet rabbit she adores.

You were too nice to answer my question so fast, so it's ok if you don't answer this one. I hope I don't bother you too much. :)) How would the group's story go if wendigos weren't part of the story? Like Jess would not be taken, she and Mike would probably be at the cabin, but Chris, Ashley and Sam would still deal with the Psycho. So after Josh reveals himself, what happens?

So we don't have the full idea of what Josh’s plans for everyone else would be. I imagine he sent Jess and Mike intentionally, and then also stole Emily’s bag so she and Matt would be outta the cabin so he could screw over Chris, Ashley, and Sam. 

Matt and Emily would go through the woods, seeing the creepy shit (aka the pigs head we get in the preordered Until Dawn games that have an extra Matt/Emily scene). The story for the three of them would remain the same, except Josh wouldn’t expect Sam to getaway. So Sam would be tied up (if you recall Sam is only able to escape if Mike is there to help), Chris and Ashley would be tied up in the saw trap. Emily and Matt would be running through the cold dark woods, scared and looking for help (like his sister). 

As for what he expected to do for Jess and Mike, I think while Sam, Ashley, and Chris were tied up and Emily and Matt gone, Josh would have made his way to the spare cabin and done something. He defo wouldn’t ever try to attack them physically though, cause Mike would defo kill him if he thought someone was about to kill him and/or Jess. It would most likely be fucking with their generator, making scary noises. If this IS true it’s likely Josh jammed the gun in the cabin (why to do Josh, we coulda used that gun!).

i don't think he’d do anything more to Emily and Matt than what he did, making them run around afraid, Emily trying to seek control but being unable to find it. It’s a good punishment for her. Also, Matt is the only person who’d kick Josh’s ass worse than Mike would. Matt may be shaped like a friend but he’s also a linebacker and he WILL fuck you up if you fuck with his friends!
