also here's a little prequel oneshot i wrote while exploring the story

Rough Night in NYC (6925 words) by Donatello-more-like-Hello Relationships: Donatello & Raphael, Michelangelo & Raphael, Donatello & April O'Neil With eldest brother off doing who knows what on the other side of the world, no way was anyone going to stop Raph from going topside alone. Of course that meant if he got hurt, the only person who could drag his sorry shell home would be himself. And it turned out that luck was not on Raphael’s side.

He held the manhole cover in both hands, pausing. He used to hurry inside to avoid being seen, but in a party costume, what was the point? With a family in tatters due to fighting or absence, he'd rather be in clear air a little longer. Today marked a year and a half. He wondered if Leo remembered the day, too.

Headcannons TMNT 2007

💙 Leonardo 💙

• When he returned to the city, he himself disliked the smell of the sewers a little. -Was that smell always there?- -It's a sewer, what did you expect it to smell like?-

• He was like an old man with technology • Constantly referred to controllers, cameras, phones, and everything else that was technological as "Thing." -Can you pass me the thing to change the channel?- -Man, are you talking about the remote control?- -Yes that thing-

• It was difficult for him to sleep again in his room because of the sounds of the subway that woke him up almost all the time. • For a while he had to sleep with earplugs. • He scared his brothers at dawn because now his footsteps were much quieter than before. • Sometimes his brothers found him asleep on some pipes in the ceiling. -Did you fall asleep on the roof again?- -It's the custom, it reminds me of trees- -I'll get you a branch if you want, child of the jungle-

♥️ Raph ♥️

• You still need the noise of the subway to be able to sleep. • The thugs of the city are sometimes visited by the “nightwatcher” and the “ghost of the jungle”. • Raph and Leo race when they're going somewhere, it's not even planned, it just happens at any moment. • Raph had a beer together with Casey, and they both came home a bit drunk. -Raph, where were you?- -Sssh~, don't tell Leo to drink with Casey- -I'm a leo- -I'm not drunk-

• he wakes up at dawn to go to Leo's room, to make sure that he really is home and that it wasn't all just a dream. • She really likes to go out on his motorcycle. • He is in meditation training with Splinter to control his anger. -Relax your mind, how do you feel Raphael?- -💤💤- -At least he's relaxed-

• he Now he also supports at home, working as a postal worker. (He obviously disguises himself) • He sleeps longer, but he still gets up at night out of habit.

🧡Michelangelo 🧡

• he Quit his job being “carl cowabunga”, but now he is an online party planner. • Donnie helped create his page for hosting fun parties. • Still has nightmares about children's birthday parties. • He hugs his brothers a lot. (Even though Raph is a bit annoyed / he actually likes Raph but he plays tough). • he still urges donnie to build a rocket pack. • When he found out that Raph was the “nightwatcher”, he peppered him with questions. -So your motorcycle doesn't fly and you don't have a rocket pack?- -I don't even know how that rumor started- -Man, I feel cheated!- -Don't believe everything they say on the streets-

• When on the Internet he found a “nightwatcher” fan forum he joined and presumed that he has an autograph from the vigilante. • He is proud to say that the vigilante is his brother. (But Raph forbade him to divulge it)

💜 Donatello 💜

• Thanks to Abril he now works correcting company codes and algorithms. • he is grateful to have resigned from his tech support job. • On more than one occasion Leo scared him at dawn by mistake. -Who the hell would think of using this type of code?- -And is it something bad?- -DAMN IT, LEO! YOU ALMOST CAUSED ME A HEART FACT!- -I was just going to meditate a bit- -At 4 in the morning?!-

• He does medical tests on each of his brothers and Splinter, it is still a mystery why Splinter's cholesterol is still a little high. • He is in charge of managing the household money. • Once a week everyone makes a shopping list, and Donnie is in charge of discarding what is unnecessary. -Please donnie! I need my soda reserves!!- -Mikey, your sugar levels have risen a lot, soda is out for a while- -NOOOO-

• He doesn't know that Raph was the “nightwatcher”, so sometimes when he comes out in conversation he expresses his dislike of him without a problem. • Since the last accident with Leo, each of his brothers has a tracker on their weapons and some hidden objects. ° Mikey has one on his skateboard. ° Raph has one on his motorcycle. ° Leo has one on his belt. ° His brothers put one in his headphones.

• After his fight with the "Stone Generals" he started to read more books of legends and mythological beings, he would be ready if they face a new legendary villain or monster.

I love the 2007 turtle movie because besides the 2003 series it was the second thing that introduced me to the world of TMNT and to this day it remains one of my favorite ninja turtle movies. 💖✨🐢

Reason to Be - Mikey

Mikey 2007

+ Y/N and Mikey have been together for a long time. They know each other inside and out. When Y/N gets into an accident right before his eyes, his ninja training almost goes out the window. When he finally gets to her, she is screaming out for him. He runs to her side saying I'm here, I'm here. She's hurt but not fatally. It surprises his brothers how calm he's being and how serious.

3rd Person POV

     “Only you would want to get a new book in the middle of the night, Babe.” Mikey said while parking the van in an ally across the street from a 24 hour bookstore and café. He looked at his girlfriend in the passenger seat. “You never cease to amaze me.”

     “You know me, always keeping you on your toes.” She laughed before turning and looking in the back at Leo who tagged along. “You didn’t have to come Leo. You could being doing your own thing. I mean it has been two years and a lot of things have changed around the city.

     “I know but Karai’s warning has been bothering me and I want to make sure that you’ll be alright. Especially since it’s the middle of the night.” He joked. Y/N rolled and undid her seat belt.

     “Well good thing Don put in an assistance alert button in Mike’s van in case something happens and you need Donnie & Raph. But I doubt you will.” She opened the door and hopped out. “I should only take a few minutes.”

     “Okay!” They both replied before she shut the door and walked away. Leo looked at his brother and smiled. Mikey was watching Y/N walk across the street with an admiring smile on his face.

     “I’m proud of you, Little Brother.” Leo said. Mikey blanched and looked at Leo surprised.

     “Whhhaaattt do you mean?” He said unsure.

     “I mean you and Y/N. When I left you were majorly pining after her and I come back to find you and her a thriving couple.” He said. “I proud that you finally stepped up and said something to her. I wish I could have seen it.”

     “Thanks Leo. It took a lot to be able to even gain the courage. Especially, without you giving me the best advice that I most of the time don’t listen to but every now and again do…I’m rambling. What I am trying to say is that you gave me confidence to do a lot of things and I had to figure it out on my own when you were gone.”

     “I’m sorry mikey.” Leo reached out and set his hand on the youngers shoulder. “I wish I came back earlier and avoided a lot of things.”

     “Don’t worry too much Leo. You are back now and that’s what matters.” Mikey set his hand on top of Leo’s and smiled. His eyes darted off to the side for a second before double taking. “Oo. She’s on her way back.”

     “You are definitely love struck.” Leo mumbled. Mikey stuck his tongue out and laughed.

Just across the way, Y/N was waiting to cross the street, new book safely tucked into her bag. The light finally turned for her to cross and she started to walk across. The street was of course not busy at this time of night but out of nowhere a motorcycle came barreling her way.

“Ahh!” She screamed as it ripped by her, close enough she could feel the heat from the engine. With a flash, Y/N could see the symbol of the Foot on the helmet. The driver hits her with an object she couldn’t place. She flew through the air and hit the ground hard as the bike screeched to a stop.

“Y/N!” The two screamed and Mikey darted from the van. He was just about to run out into the street before Leo grabbed him back into the shadows. Leo threw a shurkin at the lamppost overhead and the light went out.

“Mikey!” Y/N cried out. The driver took off and the two made sure the cost was clear before Mikey ran out. He immediately ran to her side and knelt down. “Mikey…”

“It’s okay. I’m here.” He soothed her and held her close. He smoothed down her hair and checked her over. Leo stood aside astonished. He had never seen Mikey this calm in a situation like this. “Are you hurt?”

“My leg hurts and I am beat up in a few places but I don’t think anything is broke.” She whimpered. Mikey nodded and picked her up bridal style. He turned to Leo.

“We need to go to Donnie.” He said seriously. Leo nodded before looking around at the scene. The tire marks and Y/N’s bag on the ground. He picked it up and jogged after the two.

“It was a foot member.” Y/N stuttered as Mikey set her in the passenger seat. Mikey looked at Leo and they shared a silent word to look into it.

“Let’s go.” Leo said before jumping in the back. Mikey got in and started the van up and drove quickly. Y/N laid down with her head against his thigh. Leo set a hand on her shoulder and gently rubbed as they made way. As soon as they were parked, Mikey picked her up and walked quickly walked to Donnie.

“Don, can you please look at Y/N.” Mikey asked as he walked down the steps. Don and Raph looked up at the tone Mikey talked in. They saw Y/N curled up in Mikey’s arms.

“Yeah of course but what happened?” He got up and put down his magazine. He walked to where he had his medical stuff with Mikey following. He carefully set Y/N on the table. She whimpered as she shifted trying to get more comfortable.

“She was attacked by a member of the Foot on the street.” Leo said. Mikey leant on his hands on the table top. He watched with hawk eyes as Donnie checked Y/N over.

“Sh. It’s okay.” Mikey soothed as Y/N flinched when Donnie touched particularly sore spot. He pet her head and kiss her forehead. Donnie looked at him surprised before looking over at Leo and Raph. They had similar surprised looks. Mikey was never this calm in a situation that involved someone he loved being hurt.

“Mikey.” Y/N whimpered and leant into him. She buried her head in his neck and he set his chin on top of her head. He hummed as Donnie finished up bandaging the last of her wounds.

“There you go. You pretty beat up but nothing fatal or anything to worry about.” Donnie said standing back.

“Thank you Don.” Y/N whispered. He smiled at her and handed her a couple of pain pills and a bottle of water. She took them slowly.

“Better get some rest. It will help.” Y/N nodded. Mikey pulled away and walked a few feet away. Y/N followed him with her eyes. He picked up her bag, throwing over his shoulder, and walked back to Y/N. He picked her up gently and walked up to his room. Three sets of eyes followed them until they disappeared behind his bedroom door.

“Is anyone else surprised slash creeped out by Mikey being all serious and stuff?” Raph asked.

“For sure.” Don said.

“I’m not.” Leo said. The other two looked at him surprised. Leo chuckled before crossing his arms and smirking. “I mean think about it. Have you seen Mikey care about anyone like he does for Y/N other than his family? And what happens when one of us gets hurt? He gets very protective and very serious. If I’ve learned anything about them two since I’ve been back is that he would give the world for her. He has a reason to be this way even if it’s not always a good thing or a bad thing.”

“Ya’ got that right. I would say that she is the most important person in his life.” Raph laughed and walked to the kitchen. The others joined him while up in Mikey’s room, he fussed over Y/N.

“I’m okay Mikey. You heard Donnie, I just need rest.” Y/N chuckled as Mikey fluffed her pillow for the third time.

“I know but I’m just shaken. I got really scared tonight.” He said. “I didn’t know what to do and I almost exposed us. I just couldn’t stand the thought that you were hurt.”

“I know but I am okay.” She assured. She reached out and he smiled. He sat down next to her and pulled her into her side. He kissed her forehead.

“I know you are. I just can’t help but worry sometimes you know. And now we know for a fact that the Foot is on the rise, we have to be careful. Especially after what they said back at Winter’s Corp.”

“Yeah that was ominous.” Y/N said before letting out a big yawn. Mikey chuckled and pulled a blanket over them and laid them down, careful not to move her around too fast.

“Okay time for bed.” Y/N didn’t argue and nestled into the covers and Mikey’s side. “Goodnight Babe.”

“Goodnight Mikey. I love you.”

“I Love you too.” He said as he saw her eye slowly close and he closed his to follow her into dream land
