Never thought saying "hey having biological brothers be romantically involved with one another is actually not okay with me" is virtue signaling and "hey fyi if you ship the brothers don't come onto my fanfic because I'm not comfortable with you reading it through a romantic lens" is toxic behavior but I don't hate to break it to you when I say authors SHOULD be able to say "don't interact with my story" if they want. That's why A03 has the block and mute button. Because the authors put time and energy and love and care and manhours into their free stories, and they don't want you intentionally changing the narrative to something that grosses them out.
Because sibling love is gross.
I like nuance but there is none here.
"Tcest DNI" is an author letting you know their boundaries. It's not disrespectful. It's called common courtesy.

My Mikeys and their kitties
So, ALL Mikeys in my universes have Klunks—most share the name Klunk but not all. I haven't necessarily written them into all universes.
And some of them have dogs as well but this post is for the kitties!
So, this post is both to share them and so I have a reference point for the different versions!
Not including Rise or MM because no Klunk has appeared and I don't currently have plans to write in those universes. If that changes, I'll update!
MIRAGE
The original stray!
Male.
Saved by Mikey almost exactly as in 2003. Eventually passes and Mikey adopts one of their kittens who resembles him.
Was actually given two appearances: grey and orange. I typically use grey in my mind.
IDW
The beautiful white kitty that Mikey acquires not long after the death of Splinter. For a time, he is absolutely an emotional support animal and Mikey depends on him.

Eventually passes to Lita.
1987
In my universe, a grey and white kitten that Michelangelo’s family gifts him once he shows responsibility. He adores this little kitten and she is idtennbetter taken care of than anyone else in the Lair.
Despite his outward sayings otherwise, Raphael is pretty fond of the cat and Master Splinter finds he is able to conquer his fear of cats thanks to her.

ORIGINAL MOVIE TRILOGY
After the events of Movie III, Mikey’s three brothers present him with a black kitten as a means to give him something to love/care for.
Mikey gave her the name Shadow but his brothers nickname her “Klunk” because of the noise she likes to make. She will respond to both.

2003
Saved by Mikey in the episode “The Christmas Aliens.” He becomes a solid member of the household. This is Mikey’s baby abdbwoukd eventually be joined by another cat, Balloons and after Mrs. Morrison’s death, Raph adopts Lucy.

After Leo returns home and the brothers start crime-fighting again, they come across this kitten during one of their fights against the Purple Dragons. The plan was for Mikey to care for the cat only until they found an owner.
But Mikey became so attached to the cat that he couldn't bear to let it go. He manages to convince his brothers to support his case to Master Splinter and despite the Sensei being against it, he is outvoted.
Donnie coins the cat “Klunk” because of their tendency to knock over everything.

2012
Ice Cream Kitty! Once a regular tabby cat, she is now quite happy as a mutant. The only true downside she has is that she must be kept cold/frozen.
After the death of Master Splinter, Donnie stumbles across an old minifridge which he repairs so Mikey can keep Ice Cream Kitty in his room. The trade off is that Mikey must keep his room clean—no dirty clothing, no old food and at least semi organized. It works amazingly well.

Batman vs the TMNT
On the way home from Gotham, this lovely kitty darted across the road and Leo narrowly missed it. Mikey immediately darted out to check on it.
Despite Leo telling Mikey to “set it somewhere safe off the road and let’s go!” the youngest turtle refused and even sat down by the side of the road and refused to leave without the cat. After an hour of Mikey not budging, Leo caved but said “You have to explain it to Father.”
Mikey decided on Klunk because “it made the van go clunk!”

2014/2016
A gift from April for Mikey’s birthday the year after the group meets. It serves as a means to teach Mikey focus and responsibility and he takes to it very well.
The family votes on the names Mikey picks but then Mikey says since April named them, she should name the cat as well. April chooses Klunk because of her habit of tearing around the Lair.

If you put every Leo in a room and have them talk about all the shit they’ve all gone through, each Leo would probably be horrified by every other Leo’s story…..and simultaneously believe that they themselves don’t deserve to complain about their trauma because what they went through “wasn’t that bad” in their opinion.
