* natasha phoenix trace is cuban-american and lived in miami before her family moved to arizona (hence the name) and mikey fanboy garcia is puerto rican and lived in pr before his family moved to new york and then california— they both speak spanish and argue over which country is better, switching between english and spanish and then trying to drag the other daggers into it but they decidedly keep their mouths shut and don’t get involved but by the end of the night phoenix and fanboy are drunk on rum and giggling to themselves talking in hushed tones and broken english as the rest of the daggers coerce them into going home before they can persuade rooster into playing another song on the piano so that they can sing (scream) it in spanish

"this is actually a horrible idea, y/n." mikey spoke frantically from behind you.

"no, it's not, now be quiet."

"i can't! we're gonna get in trouble."

"oh please, who's gonna stop us?" you scoffed.

"oh, yeah." you stopped what you were doing for a second, "oh well." you shrugged, "come on, help me up." you held up your arm waiting for him to help you out.

"you're really gonna leave me in here? to rot?" you begged, flashing him the eyes you knew would make him do it. it wasn't like you were stealing. you found it in the dumpster, so that meant the movie theater was getting rid of it.

what was "it" exactly? an old movie poster for your favorite movie. the movie theater near base was a small one, so they often played old movies and happened to be playing "the sound of music" and it was one of the retro posters, so you had to have it.

"y/n, we are literally going to get arrested!"

"oh, goodie." he excitedly got back into your car and didn't wait for you to put on your seatbelt before he was speeding back to your house.

Martin comes from obscurity in Spain to fight Mikey Garcia in at home and just puts on a damn clinic. Mikey was a P4P fighter not too long ago but it was clear that Garcia just could not get into this fight and that was in large part because Martin came in dialed in and ready to go. Dude looked great in the rounds I saw. That’s upset of the year territory right there guys. Up there with Warrington-Lara 1. Man just did huge things for boxing in Spain and maybe even got himself a world title fight.
