New comedy: The Wonder Years 2021

I enjoyed the original show very much when it aired. I hadn't seen a show like that before, with the narrator and showing how awkward being kid could be. I don't think I watched every episode, but it was something that my family watched. (Parents were pretty strict with the TV and there were only certain shows we could all watch).

Normally when I learn about reboots or remakes I kind of wrinkle my nose about it. But this is very different as it's taking the format and premise (a family in the late 60's with a narrator) but that's it.

Everything else is going to be different as it's telling the story of a completely different family having a very different perspective of that time of history.

Melding humor and drama is going to be a difficult task but if the first episode is any indication, it will be done well.

The best humor was the Coach trying to coach and the Dad coaching - it was hilarious.

And then it flipped right into learning about Martin Luther King's shooting, it was emotional whiplash but I thought it did a great job of trying to recreate what it might have been like for people learn about at the time.

Don Cheadle is a fantastic narrator, I thought be brought the humor but also weight to the most heavy moments. Excellent choice.

I will watch this again as I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely give it a chance. :)

Day 4, "radio". Here's an obscure pull: Hell-No Price and Christmas from the movie Troop Zero. I did not expect this movie about knock-off Girl Scouts to hit me as hard as it did. It's about a bunch of lonely weird little kids who feel like aliens on their own planet and they NAILED it. As a grown-up fellow lonely weird gay neurodivergent little kid obsessed with space, this movie made me feel some major feelings yo. It's a gem, seriously.

TROOP ZERO

I've been meaning to watch this one for a while, It seemed good, had a good cast but honestly, I wasn't expecting to be this good and I definitely didn't expect it to make me cry, It's been a while since I've cried watching a movie and it's been a while since I felt the need to immediately write about a movie as soon as I've done watching it, but I think people need to see this movie. It's beautiful, special, has some great songs, it also made me laugh a lot and I'm still wondering were the hell people find such talented kids? I’m honestly enchanted by them. Directed by two women, this incredible movie talks about the beauty of being different and although it is not the first movie to do that - far from it - it does an amazing job and it's always good to have a great movie showing kids that's it's okay if you are not like the others and you'll always have a friend to go through embarrassing situations with and that will stand up for you, I felt like I was a child again watching this and... Hell-no is an angel and I love her. Also. FEMALE DIRECTORS EXIST! THEY’RE NOT A MYTH! WATCH AND SUPPORT MOVIES DIRECTED BY WOMEN!

I’ll rate this one 11/10 because it’s my blog and since I’m not really a critic I make the rules around here

So, I watched Amazon Prime's Troop Zero the other day and it is a good wholesome movie and I suggest watching it because I found that there were a few underling messages.

You can sometimes find a friend in your enemy

Just try. You may fail, but you are not allowed to give up no matter how many other people tell you diffrent and you may want to give up.

Adults can be taught things fron children, especially the damaged ones.

It's okay to feel your feelings.

Things always end up like they are supposed to. You may have failed but that doesn't mean you failed completely because is it really failing if you brought together a bunch of kids that would be the most unlikely of friends?

People who think they are better than you will push you down but you aren't allowed to stay down then theh push you.

I am sure there are many more messages and feel free to add any I missed but Troop Zero really is a good, light hearted movie and I think it deserves a watch.
