I have read Le Fanu’s book ‘Carmilla’ and I have a little question:

In the book Carmilla says that she is a Karnstein while she was watching a picture on 'Mircalla’ dated 1698 (of course it was a Carmilla’s portrait), anyway, Laura answers that her mother (that died when Laura was little) had some Karnstein ancestors. So Carmilla and Laura were distant relatives.

Now, I was wondering: Do they are like this into the web series or the authors choose for another way?
