No big thesis here just the jealous observation that afiak my parents have moved 1 time since at least as far back as 1985
ONE TIME in forty years. And that move was their choice, a deliberate/intentional upgrade.
Im not quite 40yo yet but as an adult doing my best with more education and a way more difficult career than either of them, i moved more than TEN TIMES since 2005. Im in my 11th household and it's still tenuous and im exhausted and im out of hope and enthusiasm. At this point in my life, I'll never get a home like they had or their parents had and i dont feel any renewal in starting over; I'm depleted. It's been so much processing power on what should be well developed routines at this point.
I'm gobsmacked when boomer women that resemble my mother on paper offer me organization tips. It's so jawdroppingly insensitive. STFU Lady! Be so for real right now! If i had half a million in equity easing my mind and the same kitchen drawers for the last 40 years id know where the scissors are too. Gimme a fucking break. Youre so spoiled and you dont even appreciate it, you mistake your blessings and privilege for skill and personal success and it's simply unlikable of you.

The Sky Is Sometimes Blue
Millennials juggle cuffed gargoyles—
stone-faced burdens in a circus of silence.
They smile while crumbling,
balance futures on fingertips,
apologies in their pockets.
The sky is sometimes blue—
but only when they remember to look up
at what the stars and space tell us:
that even weightless things can burn.
