"Maybe you're right," Milo sighed. "But maybe there should be." He offered a slight smile. "I just hate that these pop up when you least expect them."

“Trust me, I get that,” Gray said as she looked at Milo and took a drag of her cigarette. “I really, really get that,” she looked away from him, a faraway look in her eyes before she let out a deep sigh. “But sometimes, sometimes we don’t have the option of dwelling on that stuff,” she said softly, lowering her hand slightly and then looking back at him. “Sometimes we just have to accept it and keep going, you know?” she asked and gave him a slight smile before she took another drag from the cigarette.

“I’m sure you do,” Wade laughed, shaking his head. “And, I’m sure that you don’t indulge at all.” The tease was clear in his tone, as his eyes glimmered and he smiled a little bit at the other man. He’d heard stories about Milo, though he wasn’t going to say that out loud at this point.

“Don’t apologize...” Jody melted under Milo’s touch. It was nice not to have to think about the past few hours. Being 18 again wasn’t the wish fulfillment some people made it out to me. Not for him. He felt himself now. Almost. There was a strange lost sense of time, still. He didn’t remember even getting dressed for the party, but maybe that was still the effect of the spell.

He was avoiding home. Elijah. Layla. He was day drinking. And that was never a good sign.

“Keep going...” Jody closed his eyes, running his fingers through Milo’s blond hair. He knew something was wrong. Desperately, horribly wrong. There was a reason his fingers were still black, that darkness manifesting in some new way. But his eyes were his own. He had some hope. He just didn’t want to deal with asking too many questions right now.

Milo confessing something like that to him was worrying. The fact that Milo was telling him at all was a bit confusing. And either he was joking, just to get Dhani on edge or scare him... or confessing to something serious. Or a bit of both.

“You ain’t the one th’done this to me...” Cherry shook her head, grabbing at Milo’s hands to steady herself. She wasn’t a drinker, not hardly. But it was obvious from hanging out in the lounge and deciding to have just one bottle of cider and ignoring the master who was pretty much ignoring them, but seemingly merely irritated by a few unclaimed slaves having fun... hadn’t ignored them so much after all. If not for Milo... Well, she didn’t want to think about that.
