Alfie had been working at the new restaurant for awhile, and while he worked he had music playing. It was a slow afternoon, Colin was behind the bar, and Alfie was wandering around the restaurant, fixing things that needed to be fixed, and doing the things that needed to be done before he headed out onto the pier to take a break. He had his phone playing music, and he couldn't help but start moving to the music, striking a playful fighting pose and then spinning around into another pose, only stopping when he realized Ava was there and was watching him. "Sooo," he said slowly. "How much is it gonna take for you to not repeat any of what you just saw?"

People got married here?  Dylan couldn’t even see getting married period sometimes, but… well, if you can find that sort of happiness in a place like this, all the power to you.  “Yeah?” he said, taking a longer drag on his cigarette before shrugging.  “It’s not like I use it all the time.  It’s just nice to know I’d be able to have some heat, some fire, if I need it, y’know?”  He exhaled a long plume of smoke in the opposite direction of the man, and laughed.  “Oh, yeah, it got out of control sometimes,” he said.  “Never got me in too much trouble.  I had a bit of a rapport with one of the detectives.  Family friend.”  Sort of.

“Oh totally,” Alfie agreed as he pulled out a water bottle and took a sip of it. “I get that, I knew the detectives and the cops around, but they were definitely not friends,” he chuckled as he shook his head. “Sometimes I was their first go-to even if I hadn’t done anything wrong,” he added with a grin.

When Daisy had found out about Lily and Alfie, her first concern had of course been for her sister. But that didn’t mean she wasn’t worried about Alfie too! He was her brother now, something that she had always wanted. And she was going to make just as sure that he was doing as well as he could be and had everything that he needed. That was what brought her to his apartment that morning, arms laden with a stack of several Tupperware containers and casserole dishes. When he finally opened the door, her jade eyes flared a bit at his disheveled appearance. Obviously he really needed her! “Hi!” She chirped back, trying to dial down the perky as much as she could, russet head tilted to the side as she continued to regard him. “I know” Daisy gave him a gentle smile, before sailing right into his home. “Sorry! About to drop these” She giggled. “I wasn’t sure what all you liked and I didn’t want to ask Lily of course so I just made a little bit of everything! Let’s see, there’s…a breakfast scramble casserole, some pancakes, pasta salad, a lasagna…” The witch went on, figuring Alfie would either follow her into his kitchen or just leave her alone to her own devises.

“What?” Alfie blinked as he watched Daisy step into the apartment and climb the stairs. Okay, this was definitely not how he expected his morning to go. Suddenly a thought occurred to him and his eyes widened before he raced up the stairs after her. When he got to the top he let out a sigh of relief as he realized the apartment was empty save for the two of them. His guest from the night before must have left, and he leaned against the doorway into the studio apartment. “You came to bring me food?” he asked as he really took a look at what she was doing and then looked down at himself. “Sorry,” he mumbled as he walked into his apartment further and pulled a clean shirt off of the stack of clean and folded shirts on his open concept closet he’d ordered and built himself. He was actually kind of proud of this whole apartment, he’d done it himself. “Okay, sorry Daisy, I had kind of a long night,” he explained as he pulled the shirt on. “Working late, you know?” he said before he gestured to the bed and it began to make itself. He’d obviously been learning a lot since becoming unbound, and he was using it to his advantage. “So, Lily told you huh?”

“No problem.” Colin gave a nod at the question. “Kinda yeah, but kinda no at the same time. Been here before so this thing…” He pointed to his collar. “… it’s nothing new at least but hey, I’m always up for a party! The parties here were always good.” And busy for him, he thought to himself with the hint of a smirk playing on his lips. 

“Canabliss, sounds good to me, when is it then? Any dresscode? Please tell me the goods aren’t spiked with anything magical… Let’s just say that the last party I was at here, it was… busy and I slept for like three days or something afterwards.” He laughed, folding up the flyer and putting it in the welcome package to take a better look at later. “I’m Colin and you are?”

“Yeah you missed some ragers,” Alfie grinned at the new guy. “I mean, well one rager. I was kind of hoping for a bit more with the beach party, but, I guess some people like the more mellow fun kinda beach party than what I was looking for,” he shrugged. “But my parties mate, they’re gonna be great, got everything you could want,” he nodded. 

At the mention of a dress code he shrugged. “Oh I dunno, whatever you want. Tell ya what, you wear green, you get half off your drinks.” he grinned. “Course I gotta find a bartender before then, but you know, one thing at a time,” he shrugged. “Gotta come up with a plan and then work your way back. Or at least that’s what works for me.” when the other guy introduced himself Alfie chuckled lightly. “Right, might need to know that,” he extended his hand. “Alfie. Nice to meet ya Colin,” he gave Colin an honest smile.

“Woah! Easy on the goods.” A chuckle sounded as he got patted down and was told about the latest rules upon arrival, being given the usual welcome package along with a collar getting secured around his neck. Colin held his hand to his head, just like upon his previous return a headache was coming on as memories returned to him. “Right, I remember this.” He mused as they took his phone and handed him a different one.

Browsing through contacts, he smiled seeing some very familiar names while he walked out of the office. Though it had been years, there were still quite a few people he knew. It was so damn good to be back, he thought to himself, his previous time here had been a blast and he would be sure to make this time just as great. Inhaling a deep breath of fresh air, he went right in the direction of the cells to drop off the very few items he carried, a smile on his face when he wanted to leave the area again and saw someone just leaving as well so he held the door open for them before even having a good look at them. “After you.” He said with a slight gesture from his hand and a nod.

Alfie had been riding around the island on his scooter, bringing flyers for his new restaurant around to drop off, advertising the grand opening party. He hoped it would be a good way to drum up some business, but also he wanted to get some people interested in hopefully working at either Canabliss, or at the Dispensary since he couldn’t be in both places at once. After dropping off flyers to most of the shops, he was going to hand some out in the cells, so over to the school he went. 

When he got there he parked his scooter, locked it on his phone and walked up to the doors, pausing when a guy he didn’t know held the door for him. “Oh hey, cheers,” he nodded to him. He looked the other over and then pulled a flyer off of the top of his stack. “Here, you new mate? Big party in a couple days at Canabliss, the island’s only THC restaurant.” he grinned. “Good way to get over that shock of wearing one of them,” he gestured to his own neck, indicating the collar the other was wearing.

There was nothing like a little hard work to get Alfie through a tough time. Back in the day that would mean him casing places and robbing them, but today it meant painting the inside of the new building he’d just leased for his next step in his business plan. Walking out of the building with a cigarette between his lips he grabbed a few cans of paint that he’d left outside. As he turned to head back in, he paused, noticing someone who he recognized, and after a moment of thought he put down a can of paint and snapped his fingers. “Uh, Da- Dhani? Dhani, right?” he asked as he pointed at him. “You’re Daisy’s boyfriend?” he asked as took the cigarette from his lips and exhaled the smoke. He looked around at the ocean surrounding them on the pier and then nodded to him. “You good man?”

There was one small perk when the island had back-to-back parties as it had lately: he got a small break. Business didn’t exactly suffer, as things always picked right back up again when people poured in for a post-fuckery pint. So he enjoyed the small bit of peace while it lasted. Gave him time to do the books and inventory without having to rush, which was always nice. The wolf was doing just such a thing that evening when the familiar hum of a scooter sounded outside, and Alfie wandered in soon after. “Ah was that yours mate? Bloody sorry, ignore the Amazon charges on it, will ya?” Ciaran teased easily, one hand reaching into the cash register and retrieving the lost card without looking up. He placed it on the polished bar, finished the line he had been working on, then shut his iPad off and looked up to meet Alfie’s eyes just as the other plunked himself down on a stool. “And what’s all this about a tab? Ya know your money’s no good here” He grinned. “Whatcha want? And good, just enjoyin’ the quiet while it lasts. How ya doin’ yourself?” Ciaran asked, dark brows arched. He had been worried about the other lately, and made little secret of that fact.

“Hey so long as you bought me something, I don’t care,” Alfie joked as he tucked the card into his wallet. He watched as the Irishman finished up what he was doing and drummed his fingers against the bar while he did. “You know at some point mate, you’re gonna have to charge me somethin, I feel like I’m robbin’ you.” he grinned before rubbing his chin. “Ah, gimme a pint’a lager,” he ordered as he stretched his back slightly and then grinned a little as he looked at Ciar. “Quit staring at me like you’re expecting me to burst into tears- I’m fine.” he assured the bartender. “Just sober, so fix that.” he grinned.

It was Alfie’s routine to get out of the house after work. Sure he’d have more work to do later tonight, down in the basement of the shop where he was growing, but he wanted a couple drinks before he did all that. He instead took the e scooter he’d bought himself and rode over to the pub, and after parking it out front- it was covered in store stickers, there was no way anyone would mistake whose it was- he stepped in with a grin. “Oi, Ciar,” he called as he walked in. “I think I left my card here last night, did you find it?” he asked with a chuckle. “Mas as well get my tab from last night because I need a couple’a before I get back to work,” he explained as he pulled himself onto his favorite barstool. “How’sit been mate?”

It was early- too early for Alfie when he heard a knock on his door. He groaned and rolled over, hugging his pillow to his face and then hearing the knock again he sighed and got out of bed. He’d taken to sleeping nude, so he grabbed a pair of pants on the way to the door, jumping slightly ad he adjusted and then took the stairs down to the front door. “I’m coming!” he called as he stumbled down the stairs and when he was finally there he ran a hand through his messy hair and opened the door. “Shop doesn’t open till ten on weekends,” he said as he opened the door and then paused. Well, he definitely wasn’t expecting to see Daisy on his doorstep. And Daisy with food. “Uh, hey,” he said slowly as he rubbed his face “Um, you know Lily’s not... Here... Yeah?” he asked with a slight frown.

The beach party wasn’t quite what Alfie had expected when he had heard there was a beach party- of course growing up seeing MTV’s Spring Break on friends tvs he had kind of been hoping for something like that, but this was more barbecue on the beach. Sure there was alcohol, and slaves wandering around providing food and drinks, and also partying, but it was a little disappointing when he’d been expecting a rager. He took a business card with a gummy in a bag stapled to it from his backpack and opened the little bag and popped the gummy into his mouth, chewing it thoughtfully before he saw someone he knew in the crowd. He hopped off his barstool and walked through the people with his drink in one hand and another edible in the other. “Hey you,” he said to Atticus with a slight grin. “Hungry?” he asked as he held up the card with the edible on it. “First one’s free,” he winked.

If someone had asked Alfie what his favorite part of being a master now was, he’d have to say the parties. Sure, they usually had some sort of awful twist, and sure they usually had some behind the scenes thing happening, but before all that there was always a lot of booze, and generally a good time to be had- so he enjoyed himself. For the most part. But today was different, today he actually was enjoying himself at the beach party. Liquor was flowing, people were in bikinis and bathing suits, and Alfie was having a great time- plus drumming up a little business on the side never hurt. So occasionally he’d give out a free gummy or something with a little business card, it was while he was handing out a couple gummies to a few people that he stepped back, bumping into someone. 

“Sorry mate,” he grinned as he turned around to face who he’d bumped into. “Got distracted, I should’ve been looking out where I was going,” he explained before holding up a business card with a small bag stapled to it containing a nice little gummy. “Want one?” he offered. “Free of charge,”

It was probably the most fun she’d had naked without having sex.

Well, mostly naked.  The school had given the slaves the option to wear underwear and while she didn’t care too much about being naked in public anymore, she’d rather not be washing paint out of her vagina in the morning.  But that didn’t stop the rigor with which she was beating on the paint covered drums, living her best Miss Congeniality life and riding on an edible.  The bass seemed to thrum in time with her heartbeat, the sticks falling on the drums out of time with it - but she was doing her best.

Rowan laughed brightly until some of the paint she was happily and furiously playing with landed in her mouth.  Eyes wide, mouth wider, she turned to the person next to her and tried not to swallow the substance coating her tongue.  “They wouldn’t wet us pway wit’ it if it was hoxic, wight?”

A rager was just what Alfie needed, he’d been at home, studying and running his shop for too long now- not to mention because he now lived where he worked he barely had a reason to leave his building anymore. So getting out and doing something was a big bonus- and yes technically he was still kind of working- the edibles weren’t going to sell themselves after all- he was having a blast. 

Sure, he was a master now, but that didn’t mean he had to stay completely clothed while everyone else was, and he didn’t, he had taken his shirt off and was dancing with the rest of the party, enjoying himself when he heard someone shout to him. “What?” he whipped off his sunglasses and looked over at the girl- he knew he knew her, probably from the cells, but he didn’t think he’d ever spoken to her before. 

His chest and face were splattered with paint, but he didn’t care, he was having too much fun to give a shit, and as a slave walked by with a tray of shots he took two off of the tray and handed one to the girl. “Here!” he shouted over the music with a grin. “Bottoms up!”

The tea was warm and it made her feel slightly better, but she didn’t drink any. She just started at it for a moment, trying to stop crying. She was so overwhelming and as much as she tried to be strong she was at her wits end. 

The moment Alfie’s arm wrapped around her she buried her face in his chest and cried more. “I’m sorry for pushing you away and not asking if you are okay. For losing my magic so I can’t heal you. I’ve been so selfish. I’m sorry.”

“Lil,” Alfie said softly. “You had your magic taken away because of me- if anyone should be apologizing for that, it’s me,” he whispered as he kissed her face softly. He sighed and rested his chin against the top of her head as he rubbed her back. “No one is to blame but the administration,” he explained as he gave her a small squeeze. “Is there anything I can do?”
