As it’s pretty obvious from my posts I have been watching quite a bit of the cast of The 100’s previous work. After watching these shows, movies etc. I have noticed things regarding their acting ability. First on my hit list is Eliza Taylor.
I haven’t watched any episodes from when she was on Pirate Islands or The Sleepover Club but I have watched pretty much everything since that point. Her acting has improved so much and you can even see the progression as she gets better. It’s very cool to watch someone get better with each role they play. Yes, she did quite a bit of non-speaking roles early on but when she got speaking parts, she started to nail them. (Yes, I started watching Neighbours and it’s a soap. Nobody gives stellar performances in those.)
I do have a few things to say about her acting on The 100 but I am not here to bash certain people for their creative missteps.
Season 1:
You can see her trying to figure out how to play Clarke. She wasn’t as facially expressive at times but she is still giving you a good performance.
Season 2 & 3:
I am lumping them together because those she truly shines at. From the very first episodes of Season 2, you can see she has confidence in what she is portraying and she is nailing her scenes. Then we get to what I refer to as the Clexa Era and that is hands down her best performances of the episodes aired so far. I think she was truly excited to act in those scenes and it shows. Other than a few minor things, which I am going to chalk up to what I have heard was dealing with terrible weather and many overnight shoots, she nails them.
Season 4:
I feel like she lost her drive for her character. Now, I was not following anything about the show online when the fallout happened regarding Lexa’s death but I can see when someone’s performance takes a noticeable dive. The main thing is she lacks screen time in Season 4 so for some actors, it’s harder for them to find their character’s voice. Then I start to wonder if she started to carry over some of the things she was seeing and feeling from her personal appearances. From the clips I have seen of her speaking, she was not happy about the whole situation but she has no creative control over the direction of the show. Also, around the 4th or 5th season is the time many actors start thinking about moving on. Either it be boredom or new opportunities present themselves, it happens. Any of these reasons could be what has transpired with her in season 4 but only she can answer that.
Season 5:
I have a feeling will be a repeat of season 4 with too many story lines and too much time devoted to story lines nobody cares about. I am hoping she gives some good performances to show what she can do. I guess we will see in January when the new episodes air though.
Thumper and beyond:
I have a theory that Thumper was her testing the waters to see what else was out there. I think she is laying the groundwork for either leaving the show if it continues or the cancellation. I am thinking cancellation but it’s the CW so, who knows. Thumper is a drama and she tends to give really good performances with those. It’s definitely an art-house film so those are good for testing the waters too. Nothing kills a career quicker than being in a big budget flop early on so it’s a good fit for her. Overall, I think she could have a good career in small budget films and tv shows.

Though several people had tried to talk him out of it - Tachibana included, for all he was clearly fretful over his nephew - Ryuunosuke had gone looking for any sign or even the tiniest scraps of rumours about Nao’s disappearance himself and kept searching, day and night. His father hadn’t been one of those who tried to stop him. Even when there was no sign or hint. Someone had taken Nao, and when Ryuunosuke found out who, found him. . . Ryuunosuke had nearly thrown one of the younger brothers through a wall tonight before heading out again; he’d been trying to rest, at his mother’s insistence, and heard the man talking about how he longer Nao was gone. . . Ryuunosuke wasn’t stupid, he knew that.

Nao bared his teeth on a rough little snarl. ‟The next time this fucking happens, Ryuu, I swear, I’ll-” Ryuunosuke threw himself at his boyfriend. ‟You can’t!” he wailed, and Nao tensed, looking down at him. ‟You can’t leave me! Nao!” Nao stilled, then rolled his eyes, putting his hand on Ryuunosuke’s head. ‟I will break someone’s neck; oh you idiot. Leave you. We’re bonded, remember?” he snapped, pulling Ryuunosuke’s hair.

He tried the door - locked; Nao refused to give him a key, saying he would let himself in and do unspeakable things or slink into Nao’s bed, which he would, but only because Nao was his and he was Nao’s and Nao should be in his bed anyway - then leapt through the broken window, careful not to put his hand down on the ridge of glass still in the frame. ‟Nao!” Ryuunosuke yelled again, striding through the small apartment, finding only signs of struggle - including Nao’s bed, the sheets and pillow thrown aside, the mattress itself pulled partially off the bed. If they had surprised Nao when he was sleeping, whoever they were. . . Ryuunosuke punched the bed, barely hearing the splintering sound of the frame giving way under his blow. He sank down on his heels. ‟Naooo!” he cried, head back.
