Never did Kitana think she would see the day where Hotaru would be so vulnerable, and yet there he was--as nervous as one of his cadets would be on their first day of training. Would such a thing be a weakness one could exploit during kombat? Mm, it may not be a bad idea to bring such up at a later date. Perhaps tbat was how she needed to ease him into a situation that he was clearly more uncomfortable with than she had initially thought he would be. While it could be fun to be a bit playful with the samurai, ultimately she decided to ease his nerves sooner rather than later.
"Because you are not only one of the most intimidating men that I know, but you will also be a perfect gentleman and not try anything... untoward."
That last word left her lips alongside of a sigh, one which spoke volumes. Surely Hotaru had seen how, at gatherings past, Kitana had been forced to rebuke suitor after suitor after suitor. While perhaps there was a part of the princess that fancied the idea of romance, the fact remained that no one had caught her eye--and unfortunately, her own desires in regards to such were oft overlooked by said suitors. Having a date would, hopefully, nip that unpleasantness in the bud. A faint smile.
"Consider it an opportunity to improve upon your etiquette in these situations while also allowing me to have a peaceful evening."
A step forward and royal hand settled upon his shoulder, an attempt made to reassure the samurai that she was not intending to put him on the spot--or, at least, not any further than he already was.
"Besides, a little time away from your constant training will do you good. I suspect you do not take much time off. Rest is an important part of growing stronger, is it not?"
