“One way of letting them know” - Mingyu

A/N: There is a chance this is purely self indulgent and I just want Mingyu to pull me on his lap like this... Just a possibility...

You would hang out with Seventeen a lot, which is what lead to you and Mingyu dating. The only thing was you hadn't been around the whole group since the relationship began. As they were primarily Mingyu's friends you were leaving it up to him how and when they found out.

This did mean you weren't quite sure how to act at your next group movie night. You were trying your best to act as you normally would as everyone prepared food and drinks.

After grabbing a bowl of snacks you headed for an empty spot, meaning you needed to pass your boyfriend. You didn't really think much of it until you felt a tug on your waistband, causing you to stumble back on to his lap. You let out a surprised squeak, causing many of the boys around you to look over with confused expressions. Even you looked at Mingyu, waiting for him to say something. With one of his hands on your hip, the other made a grab for the snacks you were carrying.

“What?" he asked before shovelling the food into his mouth.

You just shook your head, a bemused smile on your face as you made yourself comfortable on his lap. The others were still staring at the two of you as you started to eat too, so you guessed they hadn't been told about your relationship yet.

"Um, excuse me?" Seungkwan asked the pair of you, speaking on behalf of all 12 boys.

"What?" asked Mingyu again, trying to hide his cheeky grin.

"You have a person on your lap," Seungkwan spoke again.

"Yes, I put them there," Mingyu pointed out, one arm now securely wrapped around your waist.

"Come on, guys," you complained. "It's movie night and we aren't watching a movie."

"No, we're watching you and Mingyu act like this is normal," Minghao chimed in.

"Hey," your boyfriend whispered in your ear, causing you to turn your head towards him.

Once you were face to face, he quickly captured your lips with his. While you weren't completely making out, you took it far enough to make everyone else uncomfortable.

"Come on, hyung," Dino whined. "No-one wants to see that."

Mingyu only broke the kiss for long enough to retort, "Stop watching us then."

"Ok, movie time," Jeonghan announced, reaching for the controller.

As attention turned away from the pair of you, you disconnected your lips.

"That was one way of letting them know," you said, softly, not wanting to attract eavesdroppers.

"I don't know why they all acted so surprised," Mingyu told you, "They've known I like you for ages."

"Maybe they were just shocked you finally found the courage to tell me," you teased.

"Hey," he pouted. "Don't be mean.”

You smiled and apologised before kissing his pout away.

"I think we need a no PDA rule," Seungkwan complained.

"They're in a new relationship," S.Coups reminded him. "You just watch the film and leave them be."

Childishly, Mingyu turned and poked his tongue out at the younger boy.

"Stop winding him up," you told the him, squeezing his thigh.

Without words, Mingyu simply held you tighter and rested his chin on your shoulder as the pair of you settled in to watch the film.
