i am jumping around the tsc books because I am a chaos demon like that but reading TDA (I'm on Lord of Shadows rn) right after reading the first three books from TMI is making the Clary/Kit parallels so apparent like:

Both Clary and Kit were kept from their shadowhunter roots (except Kit knew they existed and was taught to hate them and fear them and I'm excited to see how his anti-Clave sentiments have shifted in TWP).

Kit and Clary having to deal with not only their latent shadowhunter powers but extra powers given to them by their ancestors (in Clary's case its just Valentine drugging her mom with angel blood).

Both Kit and Clary's existence being a catalyst to a regime shift/ change in the current hierarchy of power within the shadow world.

Clary and Kit being connected to prophecies (Clary being able to see them in some capacity and Kit being the prophesized one).

I'm sure there is so much more but this is all I can think of right now. But yes Clary/Kit parallels makes my mind so buzzyy. They're prophecy kids for a reason.

ty headphones theory but it's not what music he listens to but that he just wears his headphones to muffle the outside world so he can still hear his surroundings but everything is not so loud.

Reading Queen of Air and Darkness now and the scene where Jem was talking to Emma (after Livvy's funeral) when he talks about how the ley line was polluted after Malcom used it to raise Annabelle (which he believed led to the warlock illness) made me think about the reprecussions of Ty's attempt to raise Livvy. He used the energy at Lake Lyn, one of the mortal instruments, to bring Livvy back and we don't know how it might have changed the energy of Lake Lyn (think the Mortal Sword becoming infernal in TMI) when the ritual went wrong and the larger reprecussions of how shadowhunters magic would be changed because of this.

Finished reading Lord of Shadows yesterday and man I understand Ty, I would also tear the universe in half to have her back THATS MY GIRL

Rereading City of Bones and the way cob Jace reminds me of Lord of Shadows Kit. The Herondale self loathing era 😔✊🏽

Woke up thinking about Ty and his secrets. What if the reason he can't talk about it is because he can't remember it or it slips his mind kind of like Tatiana's diary or the Gracelet or even Dru forgetting Ash?
