Soo... I totally didn't just wind up getting inspired by @minzart 's BCBC AU and decided to make my own transformers AU, nope not at- AH CRAP I DROPPED SOMETHING- *drops picrew art of new OC*
...Well shoot now I gotta explain my AU and new OC now don't I? XD
I'll fill in most that I can, though the summery is not that long and I've so far written only this OC's thoughts on specific Decepticons, I'll likely show the rest if I decide to post it all on AO3 (seriously big if cuz I am pretty bad when it comes to posting stuff like this and uh... Also this is my first AU sort of thing and I kinda made this while in two fandom phases so pls forgive me if its not great I'm honestly not that good of a writer XD) but nonetheless I hope you guys like it. (and thanks Minzart for making me descend further into my Transformers madness with your insane art and transformers stories. XD)
(ALSO BIG NOTE THAT I DID NOT MAKE THE ART, I MADE THIS OC ON PICREW.)
Name: Medi
Last Name: Unknown
DOB: February 15th
Age: 27 (???)
Fraction: Decepticon
Species: Human (???)
Occupation: Medic/Doctor/Engineer Mechanic.
Theme Songs: “Under The Tree” By SiM, (more will be listed if I find any that suit her.)
Inspired by: BCBC reader (By Minzart on Tumblr and Ao3), Eren/Mikasa from AoT.
Backstory: From what she could remember as a child, Medi knows her parents weren’t the best of people. They neglected her, treated her as something they had to keep alive but never really loved her like an actual daughter.
Both of her parents died in a fire. She isn’t sure how it happened, but from what she heard others say it had apparently been an accident. She had been the only survivor, and since she had no other relatives to take her in she was sent into foster care where an old couple looked after her. Though for most of her time growing up, she never really tried making any friends since the loss of her parents, and due to the trauma of mental abuse she had to go through, which caused her to lose the ability to show much of her emotions.
Eventually her guardians died once she reached the age of 18, so she had to take care of herself later on. Aside from how stoic she was, she’s shown to be quite independent regardless how introverted she was to others. She became interested in mechanics because [Error: Cannot find information.] so she set her sights on engineering.
After she turned 30, she eventually moved from her old town to a new city that was built. It took a while for her to find a job that would actually let her in, but once she found one that was instantly begging to find someone to take the place of an assistant for mechanics she took it… Only to eventually regret it later on with how insufficient and stupid her Boss actually was. But it’s not like she had much of a choice since the pay was good, and she doubted she could find another job any time soon with how she’s been trying to find a place that would willingly let her stay with the money she’s been trying to earn for rent.
But then the next month soon after, during the end of her shift, she suddenly noticed that there had been a damn tank left outside. A literal battle tank.
At first, she had wondered if someone had come in to get it repaired, but when she saw no one was around, she decided to just look inside to see if anyone was in herself.
…No one was in it.
It only confused her further as to who in the hell would be stupid to leave a tank out in the middle of a construction site. Much less one she could tell was pretty damaged. Did something just think they could just leave it out in the open for them to repair it then come back to pick it up later?
As much as Medi wanted to just ignore it and report it, she had this odd urge to just have at least one peak inside it. And so she does, and of course as a result she ends up waking up the damn mech in disguise who we all know and love as Megatron. Impressed with her repairs, he ends up taking her back to the Decepticon’s base of operations.
“What Is Freedom?” AU Summary.
Basically this is an AU where the Transformers arrive on Earth in a different year instead of 1983, somewhere around 20XX, and everything’s just slightly more on the advanced side. Medi is of course pretty much the main protagonist, pretty much forced to work as the Decepticon’s medic/doctor to keep herself useful and stay alive for the most part. Though the longer she works under them, she starts to actually feel new emotions… Emotions that show she apparently likes being able to work under them (she mostly thinks it's because of the Stockholm syndrome kicking in), but at the same time she didn’t really want to be a bad person. Mixed emotions can do a lot to an already mentally unwell young woman who is terrible with them, especially when she can’t really rule out her own feelings.
The main point is that Medi’s feelings are pretty unchangeable and she knows well enough that as long as she’s stuck with them she doubts that there’s any way she can likely come back from this. However, there have been times she’s been having these constant headaches or nightmares, but she can barely remember what they were about.
Medi’s feelings about Megatron: Pretty nervous about him, but nonetheless tries the best she can to just listen to the mech so she doesn’t end up dead. Sometimes the more she listens to him, the more she wonders what exactly the Decepticon leader really wants aside from Power. She can see that the longer she gets to know her new “Boss”, she can see that there might be something else laying under the surface, but wisely she doesn’t try to ask since she thought it wasn’t in her place.
Medi’s feelings about Starscream: Oddly finds the seeker not too irritating like others. Medi just finds him strange most of the time. Annoying yes, but mostly strange. Sometimes though she will get annoyed with the seeker because he and his trine eventually take advantage of this one flaw she has: She has this massive fear of heights. She isn’t sure how or when she got this strange fear, but she did. And of course like the jackass he was, Starscream decided to mess with her about it whenever he had a chance to take her out flying. Course Starscream knew better than to accidentally kill her so he does his best to be careful at times. Most of the time she repairs the seeker if there had been a particularly bad fight between him and Megatron, but of course that’s kept in secret (though it’s not really like anyone would believe it was a secret with how Starscream lies out of his ass about fixing his injuries himself.)
Medi’s feelings for Soundwave: In Medi’s opinion she honestly thinks Soundwave was just as intimidating as Megatron, if not more terrifying to be honest since she actually witnessed him kill a mech with no hesitation on accident one time. Course though despite the trauma of seeing that, she had to force herself to realize that being their Doctor was most likely going to be her life now, so she forced herself not to think too much about what she had witnessed Soundwave do, but nonetheless she does her best not to show too much fear if she could help it. Once further along in the AU she does like listening to the music he plays (in all honesty she wasn’t really expecting Cybertronians to actually have good tastes in music.)
Medi’s feelings about Shockwave: Terrifying? Yes. But interesting? Also yes. Medi honestly thinks that Shockwave’s work with technology is astounding since she knew Cybertron’s tech was WAY more advanced than Earth’s own current technology. Sometimes there were even times if the scientist could actually make her have some kind of cybertronian body…
Medi: “You think he can tear me apart and put me into a new form where I can be like you guys-”
Starscream/Megatron: “ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!”
Yeah, sometimes conversations like that would happen between the two, only for Megatron and Starscream to completely shut those ideas down because of how insane and likely bad it would be. She was their only medic god damn it and they can’t really lose her to become a damn crazy volunteer to be one of Shockwave’s damn experiments and get herself killed as a likely result!
Concerningly because of this Medi does get these crazy ideas about if she could get a cybertronian form. Or at least maybe make herself more useful by having a weapon attached to her instead. Now and then she’d go to Shockwave to suggest ideas, sometimes even helping him once the relationship between them grows down the line.
And that's it so far! Again I'll think about posting the rest of Medi's thoughts about other Decepticons on Ao3 if I feel confident enough to do so. And just so you know some things MIGHT be changed (probably most likely will change how Medi and Megatron met a little bit I did kinda wrote this on the spot after all XD)
