happy birthday to ryoji kaji! (who is right where he wants to be)
When the Squad so GOATED you’ve all had sex with each other at one point or another 🤪
like mother like son
I was tagged by the wonderful @jandjsalmon to do this! I have more ships I enjoy, but these are some of my long enduring favorites:
Without naming them, post a gif of ten of your favourite ships (any media) and tag as many people to do the same.
They are my OTP. My true OTP of all the OTPs. I'm a sucker for second chance romances, even if it has every cliche in the book.
I've shipped these two before I knew what shipping was.
These two were made for each other and maybe one day we'll see what could have been.
We still have the comics, at least...
There's no way these two are "just friends."
Mama Winona said that it was okay...
They're together in every timeline. I rest my case.
I don't think there is a single person in the fandom that doesn't ship them. If these two don't end up together for real, we riot!
We know the flower was from you...
They were our childhood. Just an obsessed tsundere and her short king. Is there a single person in the fandom that doesn't ship them?
Honorable Mentions:
I'm going to tag @babsvibes, @jimmyjrsmusoems, @gambitsobsession, @fiywrblaidddrwg, @drawthethingdoppelganger, and @donutcats if they all feel up to it!
The Liar and the Hypocrite is finally complete!
This is a 3-chapter-long fanfic about the complicated relationship between Misato Katsuragi and Ryoji Kaji. I am grateful that I can finally pour my love for this couple from the Evangelion series through my writing. You can read it on my Substack!
Read Chapter 1 NOW.
Sneak peak:
Cheers to a New Year! 🥂
Misato tells Shinji about her date - College AU WIP
Shinji sat at the counter in the kitchen. Late morning light shone through the window and caught on the curls of steam wafting from his mug of coffee. When he took a bite of toast, the soft crunch sounded as loud as a gunshot in the silence of the house.
Neither Asuka nor Misato had come home last night. Shinji hadn’t stayed up waiting for them, per se, but he had gone to bed later than usual. He had stayed up playing his cello. Since he’d had the whole place to himself, he’d spread out. Typically, he practiced in his bedroom before the household quiet hours began, but the only person who might be bothered by his playing was Pen Pen, who probably wasn't real. If he was real, maybe he'd get fed up with the noise and come out of his room to complain. Then, Shinji wouldn't have to be alone.
But Pen Pen didn't emerge and no one else came home, so Shinji sat with his cello and played along with the radio until he started dozing off.
He double-checked the locks, then trudged up the stairs to his room with his cello in hand. He put it away, then fell into bed.
Even though he'd been falling asleep in his chair, once he was under the covers he lay awake, listening to the house creak and settle until he couldn't take it anymore and got up to get his tape player. He pushed one of the buds into his ear but didn't turn the music on. He couldn't shake the feeling that Asuka or Misato might come home drunk and have trouble unlocking the door, and if he was listening to his music he wouldn't be able to hear them and let them in.
What a joke. If he'd known they were both going to be out all night, he wouldn't have bothered.
But, he hadn't known, so he'd lay in bed, running his thumb over his tape player’s buttons without ever pressing them down, ears pricked for the sound of metal against metal and slurred bitching.
He fell asleep at some point, because, the next thing he knew, he was waking up.
He got up and shuffled downstairs to unlock the doors and check the porch and the driveway for signs of his errant housemates, but Asuka was not passed out at their doorstep and Misato’s car was nowhere to be seen.
He’d gone back in to check their rooms, but Asuka kept hers locked at all times and didn’t yell at him to fuck off when he knocked, and Misato’s door was wide open, revealing piles of clothes and fashion magazines and beer bottles and her unmade, unoccupied bed.
Which is how he ended up eating breakfast alone.
He was pouring himself a second cup of coffee when he heard the front doorknob turn and the door swing open. So, one of the wayward chicks had finally come straggling in. Mug in hand, he sauntered over to see which one it was so he could give her the stink eye.
Misato was standing in the entryway, supporting herself against the wall with one hand while she took off her high heels with the other. She glanced up to see Shinji and let out a weary sigh.
“Is there any more of that coffee?”
Shinji gave a brief nod and gestured towards the kitchen, oozing disapproval.
“Oh, don’t look at me like that,” Misato huffed, heading down the hallway. “You didn’t come home all night just a couple days ago and there’s no question what you were doing while you were away.”
She gave him a pointed look over her shoulder, waggling her fingers at her neck.
Shinji blushed and pulled his hood over his head. He hadn’t realized he had hickeys until he had gone to take a shower after Asuka left for her date party and discovered the pink and purple marks mottling his neck and shoulders, advertising his business like a billboard.
He didn’t know why it mattered to him that she’d seen them, but he would have covered them up if he’d known they were there.
He followed Misato back to the kitchen, subdued. “How was your date?”
Misato didn’t answer until she was at the coffee maker. “It was good,” she said, filling her mug. “He was a gentleman. A good conversationalist. He was interested in me as a person, not just in trying to get me back to his place.”
“Is that why you stayed over with him?” Shinji sniffed.
Misato hid her face behind a sip of coffee. “I didn’t.”
Shinji gave her a severe look. Who was she trying to fool? He knew she’d been out all night.
Misato averted her eyes. “After the date, I stopped for a drink on my way home and ran into my ex at the bar,” she muttered.
Shinji’s eyes widened. “You went home with a completely different guy?!”
“It wasn’t my plan!” said Misato. “Ryoji– My ex just…” She let out a hiss of frustration. “This is why I can’t see him. Whenever I do…” She shook her head. “I’m not going to let it happen again. I want to try dating Hyuga. He’s nice and sweet and just what I’m looking for. I’m not going to mess it up.”
Shinji raised his eyebrows and sipped on his coffee.
Misato scowled at him. “I don’t need this from you, Shinji. Is Asuka home?”
Now it was Shinji’s turn to scowl. “She also didn’t come home last night.”
“I’m happy for her!” said Misato. “That means her date must have gone well.”
“Yeah, I guess,” Shinji grumbled. Her date that was supposed to be with him originally.
If she had brought him to her sorority thing and they’d hooked up after, would they have gone back to their separate bedrooms when they finished or stayed in the same room together all night? How did that work when both parties lived in the same house?
He guessed it didn’t matter at this point. Asuka didn’t want him and Kaworu did.
